LATEST Just so good. Went for dinner Saturday night and my friend also loved it. I've perfected my order and toppings. I just think it's always an enjoyable experience although the line takes a while there's always a line and it can range from 5 to 30 minutes to get your food basically it's always a good experience. The food is very good it's well-priced and the service is sincere and the atmosphere is great. It can be sort of chaotic but the people are generally friendly and very pleasant and sometimes fun to talk to. Always recommended, always popular.

I love this place, it's sensational and I always feel five star and it's very affordable. However my last burrito was tiny and I've never seen such shrinkflation so I'm hopeful when I go back it's not that way because it was kind of ridiculous. I love the mushroom burrito in particular.
PRIOR REVIEW
DELICIOUS
ABSOLUTE YES The Taco Stand is very famous and a bit of a phenomenon. I'm familiar with the other location in Bird Rock, La Jolla . This is not a healthy place in particular and they have french fries in one of the burritos and whatever. It's very very good.
Both of the locations I've been at have an endless line and you can even use the app which is important to know because you don't even have to wait in the line. You can literally walk past the line and get your food in 5 minutes.
Everyone working there is genuine, hardworking and this is obviously one of the long-standing places that is well-known. They literally never run out of a line.
I am nutritionally minded so I chose tonight to get the mushroom burrito which was sensational. I'm also starting to formulate a plan to try the bean and cheese burritos because that's also a reasonable option. But of course the carne asada and other options are great and just basically excellent.
There's all sorts of character and vibe here. You get your cups of salsa and different topping sauces that really add to what's already phenomenal. I was so loving that mushroom burrito. I was showing a friend around who was visiting and this is just really a great place. For families with kids for anyone.
So this is a top recommend and I just don't think anyone's go going to be disappointed. It's a very long-standing high-quality place. Every person I talk to is genuine and kind and that's what I like to see and that's why I give five stars.
When people care about what they're doing, are interested in the subject matter at hand and that they're community supportive and take care of people. That's certainly true about this place and this is a strong very strong recommend.
There are other options all-around certainly that are good but you're not going to regret this place in my opinion. Meanwhile, I paid $9 with 15%...
Read moreA Taste of Baja Bliss at The Taco Stand, Encinitas! Stepping into The Taco Stand in Encinitas is like a mini-vacation to a bustling taqueria south of the border – full of vibrant energy, the aroma of sizzling meats, and the promise of incredible flavors. My recent visit absolutely delivered on that promise, leaving me with a satisfied smile and a definite craving to return. I started my culinary journey with the much-praised Baja Fish Taco, and it was everything I hoped for and more. The fish itself was perfectly cooked – flaky, moist, and encased in a light, crispy batter that provided a delightful crunch without being greasy. It was expertly complemented by a fresh, vibrant cabbage slaw, a creamy and tangy sauce, and a squeeze of lime that brightened every bite. This wasn't just a fish taco; it was a symphony of textures and tastes that transported me straight to the Baja coast. Next up was the Camaron Spicy Shrimp Taco, and for those who appreciate a little kick, this is an absolute must-try. The shrimp were plump, juicy, and generously seasoned with a spice blend that built to a satisfying warmth without overwhelming the delicate flavor of the seafood. The accompanying toppings, a masterful blend of creamy and crisp elements, perfectly balanced the heat, creating a harmonious and utterly delicious experience. Each bite was a delightful explosion of savory, spicy, and fresh. And of course, no meal at The Taco Stand would be complete without indulging in their churros. Oh, the churros! Warm, perfectly crispy on the outside, and wonderfully soft and doughy on the inside, these golden delights were generously coated in cinnamon sugar. Dipped into the rich, velvety dulce de leche, they were the ideal sweet ending to an already fantastic meal. It was pure, unadulterated comfort in dessert form. Beyond the incredible food, the atmosphere at The Taco Stand is electric. It's clear this is a beloved spot, with a lively buzz that adds to the authentic experience. The service was friendly and efficient, even with the constant flow of customers. The Taco Stand in Encinitas isn't just a place to grab a quick bite; it's a culinary destination that consistently delivers fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable Mexican street food. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their menu, but honestly, I might just have to get those Baja fish tacos and churros again! Highly, highly...

Alex
Everyday just like you reading this -- I go to work. I go to work with a hope of being able to provide a better life for my family. Our world is filled with people who work long days to barely make ends meat. As well as people who burnt out and wonder the streets homeless having been dealt bad hand after bad hand.
Occasionally you get the chance to share a meal with a loved one. In this case I only had to work 11 hours today. Feeling tired and almost deciding to skip dinner so I can sleep more and be more rested for my 15 hour day tomorrow--- the wife and I decided we must eat. We must simply grab some food and just share a meal together. Something we've been more focused on lately-- because just like you we aren't perfect and we just try to be better for each other just one action at a time. A shared meal goes a long way. Walking in we knew the service would be fast because this place is always great. But that's not what prompted this review.
It was the immediate conversation that took place. Immediately Alex welcomed us in and asked how our day was. After I gave him the usual response he said "how was it really"
And before you knew it--
I ended up sharing with him how my day went. I felt bad for just dropping all the tea on him. But immediately he was able to share where he could relate. We began sharing stories, talking about music, talking about the world, sharing perspectives, sharing ideas, sharing laughter and sharing tears.
I came for tacos and was able to have a conversation and make a new friend. I did not realize I needed this moment.
Not only does eating here give you great authentic Mexican cuisine-- but I felt embodied by a welcoming family oriented culture that accepts all walks of life regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
The world so desperately needs more Alex. I wish everyone could experience this level of customer service---
But even more than that---
I wish other people could provide this type of customer service, kindness and humanness that this pure soul so eloquently provided.
It is perhaps the most efficient form of renewable energy that exists in the heart of every human being.
Thank you Alex for reminding me of what it means to have purpose-- and more than reminding me-- thank you for setting...
