Visited first time Sunday night, and desperately wanted to like this walk-in diner. But were disappointed at the two young staffers at the counter who were not only standoffish and tactless, but were too hasty to take orders and reticent to answer any questions. Upon ordering, we politely asked to lightly cook the slices, not too crusty-browned. Neither they made an eye contact nor responded to our request. Lo and behold, they charred the crust on both spicy Arrabbiata sauce and all 4 Parmigiana squares. Only the 3 Tacchino turkey squares were not blackened, though its crust was rock hard to enjoy the taste or texture. Their ineptitude, the apparent lack of concern and possibly lack of proper training is why they burned the pizzas. I let the guy know who brought the pizza-boards to our table, that even after specifically requested to lite-bake, you burnt it. All he said was, Enjoy! And high tailed it. To already small pizza slices, they cut those down in half-squares and bring them spread out in long wood-planks, which is why when overheated it dries & hardens up the crust even more. They weren’t willing to communicate otherwise we would have told them not to cut it in snack-sized squares. Paid total: $56 for 8-slices, yet still hungry after force scraped to eat only the salvaged toppings with a fork. After pizza fiasco we also bought their Gelato. The server there was cool and upbeat. He apologized for a few empty containers; he said some flavors sold out early. But what was there in Tiramisu gelato? It didn’t taste anything like tiramisu; tasted like unpalatable cream cheese, dusted with some dry bland powder. The unpleasant aftertaste was worse. It’s been over 24 hrs and I’m still queasy in the chest. Terrible overall for a diner in an immersive community of Encinitas popular for award wining cuisine and healthy...

On a Friday Nov 1st, I noticed some concerning signs of neglect at the GP Dinner. Around 6 pm, my wife and I walked over to the taco stand, where a homeless person was sitting at one of the outside tables on Encinitas Blvd, eating his own meal. He had a strong, unpleasant odor. About an hour later, when we stopped for gelato, the trash he left on the table was still there.
Inside, after I was served ice cream, I handed it to my wife, who had taken a seat at the last table near the restroom. As I turned to pay, another homeless person, a woman with a similar odor, sat down across from my wife at the same table. My initial instinct was to ask her to leave, as the table was taken, but I decided not to, as we wouldn’t want to sit there after she had. We ended up eating our gelato outside, between the two shops near the tables.
As we ate, I noticed that none of the employees seemed to care about the homeless woman. I kept an eye on her, wondering if she might try to touch the ice cream buckets, but she left just before we finished. I am genuinely concerned about the degradation I witnessed, potential health issues, and the apparent lack of attention from...
Read moreThe pizza is delicious but the guy that seems to be the manager has been rude to me the last two times that I have been there. Today, I was sitting inside at the table and the music was way too loud and it was heavy metal music that was so disturbing to hear that I had to eat outside. When I came back in, I told the guy with the dark hair that appears to be the manager that he may want to play better music for his customers because the heavy metal music was very disturbing. He was rude and said he heard enough. I said, I think you should be concerned about how your customers feel but he was still rude. It seemed to me that heavy metal music was his favorite music and he was playing it really loud and didn’t care if it was disturbing the customers. The last time I was there, he wouldn’t let me have freedom of speech. He told me to not talk anymore just because I said one sentence about God and spirituality. This is not Ziky because Ziky has been very nice to me every time I’ve been there, but this time Ziky wasn’t there. I wish he was there so I would’ve been treated better. I wanted to get some gelato, but I could not because of how rude...
