Sadly, we're going for the full downgrade on this one. It wasn't just a Thai restaurant we liked. It was our favorite spot in town. The economy is bad and people have less tolerance now for places that they liked and trusted who have fallen off considerably. If a place that I like a lot serves me a bad experience, I usually assume it's an anomaly and give them more chances because they've earned them. So it was with Lucki Thai. My wife has had bad experiences the last five times she has visited. It's been at least three for me. The last straw came on Saturday when we visited to celebrate her birthday. We both wanted Thai food and we don't really have a plan B....yet. We've been eating here for nearly four years and the other places we've tried locally weren't as good as this was or were out of our proximity that evening. This place is within five miles of our home. We ordered a few of our favorite dishes and settled in to eat. My wife also ordered a second serving of rice which never arrived. We requested it again and the server apologized but still never got it. We watched her wander around and chat with other employees but the rice never came. We would have pursued it but by this point, we had other problems. We realized when the rest of the food came that the server had never asked us what spice level we preferred when she took our order. We didn't even think about it because this is a question we've been asked every time we've ever ordered food at any Thai restaurant. Our food didn't just lack spice though, it completely lacked flavor. I don't think I've ever been served such flavorless Pad Thai or Panang Curry at any Thai restaurant ever. It was just bad. Even my beef noodle soup was weak. I made mention of this to the person I assumed was a manager and he offered no solution or discount. Just a very weak apology. We basically paid over $60 for a terrible meal and experience. I would have a hard time letting that go if the economy was good and my money was less tight but if we're eating your food these days, you've probably previously earned our trust. My message to Lucki Thai is, you blew it hard. We won't be back and we'll be sure to let our friends, many of whom we have introduced to your restaurant know.

I don’t know why I haven’t written a review sooner.. but after today, I just had to. My boyfriend and I have been ordering from Lucki Thai for years now, we love it, never had any issues whatsoever. Food quality is always great and consistent. When I called today to place an order for pick up, I didn’t get the name of the gentleman who answered the phone and took my order, but he was absolutely wonderful. Even just over the phone, you could feel his happy positive energy. After I hung up I even said to my boyfriend.. “that man was so nice!” — cut to, I go to pick up my food.. same gentleman greets me upon entry (I recognized his voice), and he just radiates positive energy, tbh I don’t think anyone could be upset around him in general. The interaction was extremely pleasant, and swift. He even gave me two cups of ice when I asked for just one because I told him “I like ice” haha. After all these years of dining here, it was the interactions with this amazing gentleman that prompted me to write a review. Sir, I apologize for not getting your name, but you absolutely made my evening. Thank you for your kindness and warmth. About the food, I ordered the egg rolls and pineapple curry with chicken, both 10/10, delicious! Highly recommend Lucki Thai.

I love love love Lucki Thai. As a Thai person, I am VERY picky with my Thai food and the noodle dishes here like the Pad Woon Sen, are amazing! The first thing that made me want to keep coming back was the Chicken Satay because their peanut sauce just tastes like home. I compare a lot of food because you always want the best, and I like a lot of Thai places but the peabut sauce here is probably the best. The service is really good, too! You can never go wrong with their Kao Pad (Fried Rice) and my all-time favorite Lychee Martini! The only reason I am taking a star off is because I don't really recommend the curries here. I've tried each one and they are okay, but not something I would come here to eat. **Update 11/2024: Lowered the rating by 1 star because they are much slower now despite rising prices.

I'm frustrated. I used to come to this location all the time when it was Pinkow. Lucky Thai seems to have a bait & switch operation going on. I'll come here for lunch. I will specifically order the LUNCH SPECIAL Pad Thai but three times now, they bring me the regular Pad Thai dinner.....with the regular Pad Thai pricing instead of the lunch pricing. Even if I don't specifically state "lunch special", I'm asking the waitress if there are any other soup choices other than egg drop soup - which there's not. So I state "no egg drop soup". She even has it marked on my bill & this only comes with the lunch special. So, why am I being charged $14.95 instead of $10.95, not getting my egg roll or my salad unless I question my order?? The other complaint I have is their 1-10 spice levels are off the charts. I love hot, spicy foods. At Thai resturants I typically want my spice between a 6-8. A level 6 at this place is inedible. I equate it to putting an electrical metal rod that's been sitting in a flame into your mouth. I just had a 3 today and I would equate it to what a normal Thai level 8 is at any other Thai restaurant. I think I'm done coming here. The people have always been friendly, but three times now of wanting the lunch special and I'm getting the regular. I haven't been so lucky @ Lucky Thai. I hope my noted complaints will alert the staff to these issues & they make the necessary changes. It's a lovely restaurant environment with lovely people...
