Thought I had high hopes, I was left disappointed. I have spent several months in Sicily so was excited to see a Sicilian red available ($20/glass). I asked the owner(?) about it and he appeared to be knowledgeable of that vintner and also the region. I bit the price point and decided to try. Unfortunately, that’s where things went off the rails. The bottle was unopened so he opened it table side. No aeration, no decanting. He blipped it right in front of me then was never seen again until it was time to pay our bill. Pretty sure he must have been embarrassed serving it that way as it most certainly needs time to open up. I tried to take time to allow it to breathe but there’s only so long a patron should have to sit and wait. While this quaint place is in a rural town about an hour SSE of Seattle and not particularly known as a wine bar “destination”, if you’re advertising a(overpriced) wine, be prepared to give your customer the quality the price point is commanding.
