Cafe 7-10 — Restaurant in Erie

So they were “open “, they actually were closed today and having a birthday , a gentle man friend of the owners named Franklin introduced me to Mabel & Thelma ( mother and daughter dynamic bakers ) and there fine treats . I sampled brownies ,cheesecake , peach cobbler and my own personal favorite from childhood sweet potato pie ( my mom of course made them as opposed to pumpkin ) sweet potato pie is a 2 day advance order . Patti Label’s pies at Walmart are good in a pinch but I will be ordering one from 7-10 on Tuesday . I love cooking and my friends rave about it , I just don’t do much baking other than wheat bread . The peach cobbler was equally amazing and the brownie absolutely luscious and decadent . So my accidental visit was an amazing experience with special thanks to Franklin for welcoming a stranger at a private party and making me feel so welcome( my mom instilled in me the art of hospitality, so I know it as well as feel it) . They are normally closed on Sunday and Monday . Well at the store today I bought banana chocolate chip bread and also tried the chocolate pecan cheesecake , and molasses cookies ( there was a customer there picking up 3 dozen ) and my lord they were amazing , to me they had delicious notes of Ginger , Mabel would not confirm or deny the ingredients as it’s secret family recipe , in any event there menu changes weekly unless you pre order a specific item , so follow them on facebook for the weekly items or call Maybel and ask . My son and I went to Cafe 7-10 yesterday . He has been wanting to stop in but we always forget once we get down that way lol. We were pleasantly surprised that this cute little cafe was here and we never really heard about it. We walked in and were greeted by a super sweet lady (seemed like the owner maybe but not sure and forgot to get her name).She was busy making up salads and treats for the day but still took time to explain to us all the yummy items she had and helped us in understanding the deals that they had to offer (Which I am still a little confused with but that is my fault lol) everything looked and tasted fresh and found a few things (cheesecake for one) that will we definitely be going back for soon. We got the peanut butter, banana chocolate bread and the Maple Bourbon iced coffee and both were very good. The atmosphere was relaxing, bright and cheerful and has a really nice vibe. So now we have a new place to stop in every so often to see what's new and available while visiting...

My daughter and I stopped in today.And it was such a beautiful experience.Mabel greeted us like we were a part of her family! She had an amazing variety available. We couldn't even make up our mind. We ended up choosing to go with the sample box which had a cookie brownie, regular cookies and three banana blueberry muffins.We then went with a three pack of the brownie cookies and our absolute favorite biscoff caramel cheesecake, there truly is nothing better than a slice of cheesecake that does not have to be thawed to be cut.
