I live a couple hours south of Enrique's and finally made it up to Downtown Erie yesterday to try their delicious Mexican food. After hiking for several hours in the heat at Presque Isle, my spouse and I were thrilled to drink Enrique's refreshing, ice hold, cinnamon sprinkled orchadas that he made for us on the spot in a kind, warm, and welcoming atmosphere! We ordered his special fried Tilapia plates that were amazing! The delicious whole fried Tilapia included plantains, Pico, fresh cheese, hot & mild salsa, black beans, rice, and corn tortillas. We had an amazing experience at Enrique's Southeast Mexican Restaurant in Erie! The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Enrique was a wonderful host, making us feel right at home. We traveled all the way from France and were truly delighted with our breakfast meal, which included rice, beans, scrambled eggs, and fried plantain. Every bite was delicious! Most amazing, authentic Mexican cuisine by far in the area. Rice and beans were cooked to perfection. The quesadilla was made to order with the best chicken rings flavor. However, the guacamole was the highlight. The freshness was beyond anything I could imagine. It was filled with flavor; avocado, lime, cilantro, red onion, and tomato.
