When I was in @Visit Erie, Pennsylvania, I was told I had to get Pizza at @ippa Pizza Napoletana at Flagship City Food Hall. A crazy thing happened that while I was in Erie, @Jessies Eddies was in town too and she was also planning on visiting Ippa Pizza. She was talking with the owner Jason about trying Ippa’s pizza so we headed over for lunch. We got an opportunity to try three of their pizzas, the Ippa signature pizza, the Bianca, and the Rita, and they were all delicious. They also made us a special Nutella calzone for dessert. I was impressed with the efforts they make to use quality ingredients without fillers and to source as much as possible locally. They make their pizza dough containing only water, flour, and Sicilian sea salt. The flour is mix of flours milled from local grains and traditional OO. They stretch daily their MOOTZARELL, their version of mozzarella, made from locally sourced cheese curd. The tomato sauce is milled by hand and mixed with local heirloom tomatoes when available. Veggies and herbs are also all local when seasonally available. This care and quality shows in the flavor of the crust and of the sauce and cheese. Ippa Pizza is definitely going to be a stop for me on my future trips to Erie, and you should all visit for their pizza too. 📍ippa Pizza Napoletana Flagship City Food Hall 508 State St. Erie, PA 16501 #erie #visiterie #eriefood #pennsylvania #pizza #pizzalover #pizzatime #restaurant #food #foodie #pizzatiktok

Expectations where high coming into this after reading the reviews. You have to walk through a weird maze of other sort of food establishments to get to Ippa. Then you get to Ippa. It's a weird process. Now you are at Ippa and you get to order your pizza. You look at the menu of 5 different pizzas and have to figure out which is the best for you and place your order. Once you place your order, you wait........and wait.....and wait.... The bartender should give you an estimate of the time it will take to get the pizza. It took 45 minutes. The place wasn't busy at all. Not the end of the world, but I hoped that the wait would pay off. It didn't. Final conclusion: - the sauce taste like it came out of a can - the crust is chewy - the cheese comes off with your first bite - it's just not worth the hype I hate writing bad reviews, but also don't want people's expectations to be as high as mine were.

Visited the OG food truck at celebrate Erie It was perfectly Accesible and available being a “ pop up” location although it was 1 block away from the flagship food hall location , there was no WiFi , high chairs or seating you had to go into Perry square for tables and chairs . I had a sourdough pepperoni , mushroom With hot honey , the pizza was fantastic . In my opinion knowing the food business and that pizza has the lowest overhead costs of any restaurant I found the price of $19.00 for a 13” pizza a bit on the excessive side (when you figure the increased cost of shipping ,inflation etc , I can easily imagine why people have scaled back going out . I have zero qualms with the food or quality a nice hot fresh wood fired pizza was fantastic , the cost will definitely keep me from ordering again anytime soon

Just wanted to let the management team know that the restaurant is very trendy. Like something duplicated from a visit to portland in the mid 2000's. Not a bad thing, but certainly not an original idea. The Gm of this location is certainly a good hearted person with solid business ideology in mind. Referring to the General manager in 2024. Now ownership, gotta say.... In no such manner would i suggest making everyone under your roof a pawn in a business they dont have ownership in. Let alone attempting to feel victorious thinking that you poked holes in someones experience. Vampirism isnt rewarded by aiding others, Its from draining them. As far as the food is concerned. Didnt try it. Pizza has been pizza, since pizza, was pizza. Dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings put into a heat source isnt going to magnificently transform into some sort of dubstep flavor decepticon that shreds your tastebuds into oblivion. Its pizza.... And from what ive learned in my "travels" is that the closer it gets to a teenage mutant ninja...

Me and my husband came a few nights ago and pizza was great! On the smaller side…The atmosphere was horrible! A nice girl took our order but every question we asked her a man from the back seemed to interrupt her. I could tell it was making her uncomfortable, i felt bad for the girl and didn’t want to continue asking her questions so he couldn’t make her more uncomfortable. Afterwards, it was around 6:30 and the man kept complaining about orders coming in when the restaurants hours are posted as open till 7 during week nights. Me and my husband felt uncomfortable and did not want to eat at the tables and outside dining area they had open. He had a horrendous attitude towards the same girl the entire wait time. When we finally got pizzas they were smaller than expected. Overall I think the service needs major help!! Though we liked the pizza i don’t like contributing to non equal and toxic work environments for young employees and kids making...

Was time to get an actual review going for this establishment. Do i honestly feel honored that Ippa replaced a portion of the best restaurant erie ever had in molly branigans? Absolutely not! So Jason spore is the owner of this place. Supposedly well traveled and knows pizza like its his job. Tried this place out for the first time. And honestly. Really really not impressed. The crust has more char on the bottom than edible surface area. The sauce just wasnt a participant. And the cheese was more absent than a east high student post 12pm. All these claims of superb quality ingredients that go into this pizza just seems so far fetched. Id be willing to bet ippa gets its ingredients from the same places as everyone else in the mistake on the lake does. A proper pie should blow your socks off. Not your wallet. Nothing gunna compare to the good ol three brothers on peninsula. Let alone the good ole days of papa joes...
