Elmisa Cafe Escondido — Restaurant in Escondido

My friend and I visited on a weekday morning around 8:30am. Elmisa Cafe was busy, but not crowded. Our order included a house coffee, iced spiced chai, the havarti sandwich, and a morning breakfast bagel sandwich. Everything was absolutely excellent! My friend loved her havarti breakfast, and the bacon in my breakfast bagel was perfectly crispy. The coffee? Amazing. I asked for room for cream, but was informed that I will be served with everything ready (there was no self mix station). The coffee to cream ratio, and coffee strength was perfect. Even though we were given a beeper for our order, the wait time was minimal, especially considering that multiple orders needed to be fulfilled before ours.

The atmosphere and decor of Elmisa was also very charming! While having breakfast I got to people watch, and saw patrons on several coffee dates, along with several pre-work morning meetings. I could see this as a beautiful, safe, and neutral spot to meet someone new, or to catch up with old friends. I felt very welcome here, which is pretty important for a lot of people during this time. Absolutely fantastic food and drinks!! I’m a HUGE fan and frequent the Rancho Bernardo location often so I was so excited to see them open another one here in Escondido!!! If you like healthy REAL food that isn’t ultra processed and tastes yummy, please give Elmisa’s a try!! Everything for every one’s taste, be vegetarian or otherwise!! Breakfast and lunch and they get you out the door and on your way quickly, or you can chow down right there!! Great location with indoor/outdoor seating! I love visiting coffee shops and when a friend told me about this new cafe I had to try it. The morning breakfast sandwich (egg, cheese & ham on brioche) was yummy and very affordable. I was undecided on which coffee drink (lots of choices!) to have so the gal recommended the Cafe Viennes and I loved it!!
