My wife, her family of 5, and I just flew back into town. On our way home we decided to stop into Escondido to change the baby, and grab a bite to eat. We discovered this establishment because it looked like a fun place to celebrate our first meal in California. We walked in to order food, my wife indicated to the employee that she needed to change the baby, and to my surprise the employee directed her to a McDonald's across the plaza. This was completely unnecessary to send her with the baby walking across the plaza to use another establishments facilities. None the less I quickly blew it off, and asked my wife if she would just go back to the van and change the baby, and I would order her food for her. As we all started ordering food it became apparent that there were few options on the menu. Basically rice, and meat. The food we ordered was approx. $10.00-$11.00 a plate. Which totaled nearly $80.00 for all 6 of us. Honestly I thought, for that price it had to be pretty amazing. NOPE! It was basically a knock off Panda Express with rice, chicken, teriyaki, or a mix of the meats. Oh and it came in the same kind of to-go container as Panda. But the restaurant went with black. "Cool". At this point, I couldn't even stand being in there. But before I left I needed to use the restroom. I got up, tried to open the door and realized someone was in there because the door was locked. I sat back down and waited patiently. Not long after, One of my In-laws informed me that I had to ask permission to use the restroom. The employee must of seen me trying because when I walked up he had the bathroom key in hand, and ever so cooley handed off the presumably dirty key to me. I reluctantly used the facility, dropped the key back off on the counter, and got everyone back in the car. But out of all of this... What really irked me was after realizing I had to have a key to use the restroom, it explained to me why the employee directed my wife off to McDonalds in the first place. You have to give them money first. Bottom line, if you want more bang for your buck, more options, more food, pay less money, and not have to ask to use a dirty restroom key? go to a...
Read moreOrdered ahead of time over the phone was told my order will be ready in 10 mins. I Arrive and tell them Iâm here for my phone order after giving them my name. They tell me itâs going to be a few mins. No problem a few mins isnât too bad. Customers proceed to come in the restaurant and start ordering. None of the 3 employees are even attempting to cook any of the orders. At this point itâs been 15 mins since I got to the restaurant and nobody is even cooking any orders. Then I see a lady walk in with a âGNCâ shirt they immediately greet her and ask her what she is having today. She says what she is having and they start making her order before she even pays for it. At this point I get angry and leave. Never coming back to this unorganized restaurant. This happened today 2/16/2020 at 2:10 pm. A male who was in the front was very rude and was the one who made the decision to cook his friends food who works at âGNCâ next door to the restaurant before everyone elseâs.
This is 100% a real review I havenât come back since that day. Own up to how your employees treated me check your cameras I put date and time for...
Read moreSurf Brothers is the best! Love the chicken & steak. The sliders are awesome! And trust me, you gotta try the don burri chicken! My family's been eating Surf Brothers since they opened their first store in Encinitas (shout out to Tokyo Teriyaki!). Started with my Dad taking us as kids to get the chicken skewers. And now I take my daughter on the regular to get her favorite...chicken & rice. The owners are great guys! and i can't say enough kind things about them. When my Dad passed, they were super kind & helpful when I had Dad's favorite Surf Brothers catered at his Celebration of Life. And years later, they again were there when we chose Surf Brothers to be catered at our daughter's baby shower (which everybody loved). Victor, Jose and the rest of the staff in Escondido are great people, who we've chatted with for years. And the staff in Encinitas and Carlsbad are really great people as well. I highly recommend Surf Brothers! The food is fresh, it's healthy, and it tastes great! Highly...
