In Estes Park, CO for a wedding and tried a downtown eatery for the 1st time. Probably won’t be back to this location going forward because of the long wait-time for our food. Location is super, super busy during the lunch rush & had to wait about 40 min for our order and kept checking in. We ordered 1 salad, 2 panini sandwiches, 1 bagel with cream cheese & 1 small scrambled egg for our 3 yr old. We were becoming a little frustrated when everyone else was getting their food instead of us, which is the only reason we kept asking eatery about our order. Pros -Had their walnut salad. It was somewhat small for the price & didn't have a lot of flavor, but I didn’t add the feta cheese that comes with it. I’m sure it would have tasted much better with it added. Just too oily. -lots of food options available and they pop out the drinks quickly.
Cons -Outside dining available, but only if you can snag a 2 person table. -inside dining is too tight & only has a few tables. -Inside/outside way too tight for strollers & didn’t see any booster seats, so not that kid friendly. -Although Panini sandwiches were tasty, they’re too small for the price. -Salad was too oily & not enough veggies (arugula, avocado & a few cherry tomato halves). You can add chicken for protein for add’l $3.50. -Wait time for food is too long & as we were waiting, noticed a # of people getting in line, then leaving because of...
Read moreReview of river walk cafe If you’re thirsty or hungry and you’re in Estes Park this place is a MUST. The menu may be small, but dang is the food amazing. I had the Saga of Samson (without bacon) and my partner had the smoked salmon bagel. Both were absolutely rave worthy. Great size portions and great prices. Kristina who is one of the owners is a Croatian sweetheart. I would go back to the place just to see her, she’s amazing! The place is small but very cute. Convenient parking lots near by and great scenery of river right in front. It’s located in the theatre mall right by a ton of little shops as well. Lots of work went into the recipes of the food and the restaurant in general and it definitely paid off. Lavender latte was also amazing— not an overwhelming lavender taste but refreshing and pleasant. Give it a try!!! Thanks Kristina,...
Read moreThis lovely cafe has been a staple on my morning walk for years. They have the best bubble milk tea in town (and continue to, even though there is now a dedicated shop that I never go to).
They also make incredible sandwiches, especially the egg breakfast sandwich (which is on a croissant and just amazing). The ladies who own the place are passionate about bringing quality food & beverages to the community and visitors. I haven’t had everything on the menu yet, but I’d pretty much suspect it’s all fabulous.
They are sometimes super busy and since it’s a small space, there isn’t much that can be done about that, but the wait is absolutely worth it if you’ve got the time. Just be patient and remember that you’re in this beautiful mountain town! Why not sit for a bit...
