This is a very attractive shop with a lot of selections of great ice cream and candy. We have no issue with the taste of the product or attractiveness of the store.
Unfortunately, my family had a really bad experience with a toffee purchase on 8/16/13. After purchasing the toffee and taking it on a trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park, one of our party bit into a screw about 1/2" long that was embedded in the toffee. Fortunately, there was no damage but we did return to the store after our outing and gave the toffee and screw to the manager who simply said "sorry 'bout that" and went on with business as usual. He was not interested in identifying the batch that we tried to point out which had been purchased, nor was he interested in checking the large machine that was mixing the batch for missing parts. It wasn't that the toffee was bad, it was the total disregard for the safety of other customers consuming product from the same batch. Where is the nut that was possibly on the other end of the screw?? Was there a washer? The mixing machine should have been stopped and checked for missing parts and the batches that had been made at the same time should have been put aside for checking rather than selling more to customers and risk someone finding other parts that may have dropped into the batch.
We did not ask for anything from the store and returned to let them know that there was a problem with a batch that was being sold on that day. This is unacceptable and trumps any care that one may have about good taste. Disregarding the health and safety of the customer is a #1 worse offense for any business and we hope that no one else is hurt due to the complete lack of care on the part of the manager and store that chose to disregard us on the afternoon of 8/16/2013. For that reason alone, we would recommend that customers select one of the other stores in Estes Park (there are other nice shops) and avoid risking your health until the Laura's...
Read moreThis place is right in downtown Estes Park. We stopped in to just check it out and ended up getting an ice cream. They have about ~24 flavors. The ice cream was good, and a single scoop was filling.
After eating the ice cream outside, it was a nice day in Estes Park, we decided to go back into the store and scout out the taffy. They had a deal of ''x" lbs for about $20.
So, we got a variety of flavors, about 45 pieces in total. The taffy is nice and soft, but flavor for each variety is not as bold and distinguished as I would have hoped.
If I'm ever in the Estes Park area again in the future. I will try this establishment again, and hopefully, the outcome of my review will be different.
I will note that the staff is friendly and courteous. The store...
Read moreI was a frequent flyer here over the summer while I worked in Estes park and this was my favorite place to get caramel apples (dark chocolate was the best!) I will absolutely be a lifelong customer every time I come back to visit Estes Park. I decided to take some back home with me and they didnât last long! Except one that happened to get shoved in the back of the fridge and forgotten about (whoopsđ). That was August 21st. Today (September 29!), I dug it out and cut it open just to see what it would look like, not even planning to eat it. To my absolute surprise, it was fresh as ever! It still tasted just the same! The ones I buy at the grocery store right now donât even last a week! Absolutely worth the...
