Ordered the vegetarian ramen, the teriyaki chicken rice dish and the pickles. The ramen was a super small serving and barely had any taste. It all looked kind of grey too. It tasted and looked like times that I have tried and failed to make ramen at home, and why I chose to order out ramen. Pretty bad. The "pickles" were the more of the pickles toppings that went on top the ramen which was a random assortment of quick pickles vegetables i.e random chopped bits of beats, a stupid long green bean, some mushrooms etc. definitely not what you would think of when you order "pickles". The wife order the chicken teriyaki and said she was also disappointed in the serving size for the amount that we paid. Service was weird. When ordering over the phone the guy asked "how fast can you get here?" As opposed to telling me when it would be ready so I just assumed 10-15 minutes. And when picking up they asked if I had paid already..... I should have said yes. Definitely won't be ordering again as they are much better tasting and more affordable...
Read moreI was excited to try this place, but sadly I was disappointed with my experience. I ordered the tofu sando with a side of miso soup. The sandwich was extremely soggy & bland so I asked for some hot sauce. In that moment I saw an female employee insist not to charge another person in line for their food, but also insist that the person helping me would charge me 1.00 for hot sauce. I’ve never been charged for hot sauce in my life, & I also feel it’s unprofessional to publicly announce that you are giving free food to one customer, & charging the other customer for every extra. The miso soup was pure salt, almost inedible. The guy with blue hair that helped me was excellent, I just wish I liked the food more, & didn’t appreciate the female employee treating the other customers with favoritism. Hot sauce is free everywhere else....
Read moreI went to Yabai Nikkei the other day for lunch for the first time. It is a food truck located on the patio of The Oregon Wine Lab. I got the Chicken Teriyaki and was pleasantly surprised. The ingredients were very flavorful and fresh. The chicken was grilled perfect with not too much sauce. It had a smokey flavor that was nice and a little bit of fat that complemented the dish nice. The portions were a nice size, and it came with a salad that also had fresh ingredients. Food was served promptly.
The outdoor seating area was nice and covered.
I also enjoyed some Black Seasem ice cream that they had on special.
Overall I was pleased and will go back to try something else. I'd recommend checking them out if you are...
