Overall it's just ok.
The salsas are really nice - the roasted salsa is good and the cabbage one is delicious. The chili con queso dip was nice, as well.
The made in house tortillas were truly delicious and probably the best thing we had.
Chip starter portion wasn't generous and they don't give additional without a charge. In fact, significant additional charges for all the little thing seems to be the norm here.
Albondigas was beyond bland and the meatballs lacked rice and were way too firm and chewy. There was no seasoning in the soup at all and a weird agglomeration of random vegetables (broccoli?? Snow peas?? Green beans??). We dumped the remaining roasted salsa and the Ranchero sauce from the chimichanga in just trying to give it some kind of flavor, but alas it wasn't enough.
The chimichanga was tasty and crispy, beef was nicely flavored, but was relatively small, and wasn't accompanied by rice or beans. I asked for cheese in the chimi, but barely any was there.
For the price ($12 for soup and $16 for the chimichanga) I expected a lot more.

Read moreWent out looking for a good Mexican place because I am not too thrilled with the one closest to where I live. I let Google make some suggestions based on location and the first place I tried was great. Super quaint and lovely decor, I was greeted by friendly staff and immediately shown to a table. Angelica came by with menus and info and gave me some suggestions as a first timer. I opted for the Empanada, and was lucky because Stacy who also was helping out told me I could go half and half with the red sauce/green sauce. The food is absolutely delicious and clearly authentic and homemade. The chips were fresh and the cabbage salsa is to die for! So I had the pork in the empanada and it was tender and moist, well seasoned and not too salty. Full of flavor and juicy goodness. I am happy to say the prices were fair and with a lovely pineapple cider and tip I was out the door for about $25. Stuffed. Highly recommend this local...
Read moreThis is one of the very few restaurants open in Eureka after 9pm. The staff was friendly even though we showed up 15 minutes before closing time. We ordered to go instead of opting to dine in, but two parties (4+ each) came in 3-5 minutes after us and they seemed fine letting them dine in, so that may be something normal for them.
Meals are a bit on the pricier side of the scale and seem to average $15/meal. The good was delicious though, you're able to choose vegetables and meats for most of the entrees instead of each item having a fixed list of ingredients. My taco salad was piled high with vegetables and had a tasty base of rice, beans, and small chunks of potato.
TLDR; restaurant staff is totally cool with you showing up near closing time, food is a bit expensive but delicious, and it's...
