Tandoori Bites in Eureka, California, is nothing short of a culinary treasure, consistently delivering an exceptional dining experience that raises the bar for Indian cuisine. For years, it has been my go-to spot for delicious, authentic food, and not once have they delivered anything less than perfection. Every meal has been a 11/10 experience—flavorful, satisfying, and unforgettable.
The Art of Tandoori Cooking
Tandoori cooking is a centuries-old Indian culinary tradition that involves cooking meats, vegetables, and breads in a clay oven known as a tandoor. This method infuses dishes with a smoky flavor and tender texture that’s hard to replicate with any other cooking technique. At Tandoori Bites, this art form is executed to perfection, producing some of the best tandoori dishes I’ve ever had. Their Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Shrimp, and Paneer Tikka are absolute standouts—each bite is a testament to the mastery of their craft.
A Menu That Excels
The menu at Tandoori Bites is a celebration of Indian flavors and traditions. From rich, creamy curries like Butter Chicken and Lamb Korma to spicy, aromatic dishes like Vindaloo and Biryani, there’s something to satisfy every palate. The naan bread, fresh from the tandoor, is a must-have accompaniment, whether you’re dipping it into a fragrant curry or enjoying it on its own. Their vegetarian and vegan options are equally impressive, showcasing the versatility and depth of Indian cuisine.
The lunch buffet is another highlight, offering a rotating selection of dishes that let you sample a variety of flavors. It’s perfect for newcomers to Indian food or anyone looking to enjoy a feast of their favorites.

I'm familiar with Tandoori and was feeling like they may have a table or two finishing up at that hour. A quick order of veggie samosa with mint chutney, and a snapshot together would have been an amazing way to see her off. It was 20 minutes until closing, I even conveyed the above sentiment to the gents, but we were unfortunately turned away. She and I have worked largely in the restaurant & bar service industries ourselves, so we do understand all and all, but it was a bummer. You're still the best, but next time take our money. We'll clean up after ourselves and turn that open sign off after locking the door. I'm sure you guys had a really long day. Next time.
I'm pleasantly surprised with the many updates in atmosphere and aesthetics after having moved away for some time! It could be under new ownership -new servers were lovely. New colors, soft music, more art. I saw that they had put effort into even little things I adore, such as the little chutney spoons. The dishes themselves the actual physical dishes are beautiful. It just looked clean and simple but nice. Our waiter was very gentlemanly and our food came out incredibly fast. He eats meat while I order vegan dishes to share, all fantastic. I will most definitely ask for my food to be more spicy next time. To remedy that we doubled down on the mint chutney, perfect. Vegetarian samosas, veggie China Masala and the potato and cauliflower. There's no sign up and it's not stated on their menu but on Fridays or Saturdays they're open till 1:00 a.m. for a limited menu so that's awesome to know, will be taking...
Read moreI really hate that I have to give the only ethnic place in town a bad review. Especially during Ramadan, that's why you're getting 2 stars instead of 1.
Firstly, not sure why naan isn't offered with a Masala dish. The naan had a hair baked right into it, I am typically understanding that hey this sometimes happens but that was just the start of this disastrous takeout order.
My bf was fasting today and one bite into the fish pakora he ran into the bathroom and threw up. Like actually threw up! I thought ok maybe he just drank his break fast water too fast. I am not a picky eater, one bit of the fish and I had to spit it out. I can't remember the last time I spat out food, I was honestly awful.
I went here because it's the only place that had halal meat and I wanted him to get some protien in because as I said he's been fasting. He ate one piece of the lamb kabobs and that's it. I'm a vegetarian (I eat fish sometimes) so I didn't taste it but based on the fish and the fact that he doesn't waste food I would say it must have been awful. To the point that he didn't want to give it to a homeless person either because it was inedible like the fish.
The Chana Masala was good, it was really good. Thank God because the poor guy hadn't eaten all day I just felt awful.
This experience was so bad that I...
