Well it's a sad day I'm always very sad to find a barbecue place that doesn't have the best barbecue because it shouldn't be that hard Good barbecue is relatively easy if you concentrate on quality of the meat and the proper temperature of the cook and time and also the seasoning at this establishment the employee seemed on point friendly the food actually had relatively good flavor could have done a little extra with it but you know okay but the pastrami was not cooked properly I guess they don't understand that it is a brisket and it needs to be brined a certain way aged seasoned and then cooked you can't just barbecue a brisket and expect it to come out with the tenderness that you need same goes with the ribs it's a process it takes time for establishment like this I understand Time is not readily available because of their setup but if they were able to at least put a good char of seasoning on it and bring it up to about 150 160 internal temp they could wrap it or put it in a stainless steel pan and then put aluminum foil over the top and put it in an oven to bring it up to 205° or until it has tenderize properly. The ribs have been barbecued to get flavor in some color on the outside The ribs are received were raw I'd say probably rare like a steak very chewy not very tender You can't cook a rib like a steak and expect it to be tender You have to bring it up to temp to where the connective tissue loosens up it is a must with ribs with pork it's a must that you have it done fully cooked and still could be chewy and not a good rib I'd say if they tightened up their cooking on the ribs and the meat I would definitely love to come back and try because I'd say the flavor was still...
Read moreAte there about a month ago. I had the steak sandwich which comes with two sides. My friend ordered a burger and a side of chili. We both got one drink. Somehow and no one who worked there could explain it to us, it was 68$ for our meal. When she said that it was going to be 68 and change my jaw dropped. It says the sandwich I ordered was $13.99. The burger my friend ordered was 15.00$. So somehow her side of chili and two lemonades we're 39$. I asked if I could have my receipt, they gave me a receipt that said $68 in change but I had no breakdown of what we spent our money on. So to add insult to injury it was literally the worst steak sandwich I have ever had in my entire existence. No barbecue flavor no smoked meat flavor the tri-tip that I got was green and tough. I took one bite and threw the entire thing away. My friend said that their burger was decent. $70 for inedible food I don't think I will ever go back ever ever again. Establishment was filthy floors look as though they had not been vacuumed swept or mopped in years. Sad to see it but this place has absolutely gone downhill. Again when I asked the staff why our bill was so much she said it was because of what we ordered and didn't attempt to explain any further. A burger and a steak sandwich will...
Read moreSolid three stars. When it was good, it was good. When it wasn't, it wasn't.
Bonus: BBQ sauce kept in a hot pot so you get as much as you want and its always warm.
Good: the chicken breasts are great. Crispy skin, good flavor, still moist. We all agreed that the sides were outstanding. Coleslaw, potatoes salad, macaroni salad. Also the people working there were great. The woman behind the counter offered to let us taste the chili when we weren't sure if it would be too hot for my wife, and she came by to make sure everything was good with out meal even through it's mostly a self service place.
The OK: the try tip was really fatty and it arrived with cold spots. That said where it was warm and not super fatty has a good flavor. The pork ribs were also good on flavor but we're more like rib tips and cross cut bones then a traditional straight bone cut and also very fatty. The garlic bread would have fallen under the good section but every piece we got was burned a bit.
The bad: We didn't like the pulled pork. Instead of a sweet sauce it came soaked in a savory sauce that completely covered up any meat flavor. I like savory sauces, but this one just didn't do it for me and the fact that it completely covered up any flavor of the pork just make it stringy...
