I appreciate that they let me stay here for a few days with my kids, but the room is dirty, though she is dirty. It is a bunkbed and underneath the bunk bed the one that I lay on there is garbage up top of the next bunkbed. They gave me a crib. The crib is super dirty And smelly. I didn’t even put my nine month old baby in that I have to spread my blanket over the sheet that they put on the bed because it was dirty. If you’re hungry, you cannot order any food . I tried to order something to eat for me and my kids because there’s nothing in here to eat and I am breast-feeding mind you. I have a nine month old baby that breast-feed if I don’t eat, I don’t produce enough breastmilk and I have a seven year old kid and I tried to order something and they told me that I cannot order anything after nine, which is nonsense it’s not like you’re going outside. You’re just ordering the food and the delivery person will drop it off when you get it and that’s it. The fridge is dirty. There is glass in the freezer. It smell bad. The bathroom is messy. It’s smell super bad. I’m assuming nobody clean anything in here. the ground is dirty. It’s like you’re walking outside if you don’t put on a sandal on your feet. and the room that I am staying in it is so hot. I have to take my kids clothes off the way it’s hot when I’m breast-feeding my nine month old baby she sweat so much. Nobody sleeping close because it’s hot. I think that they need to clean properly because we all human not because people homeless and they don’t have a home. You guys don’t try to keep the shelter clean for other people to come in at least buy a fan to put in the room clean the fridge. There is shelter other places you get a fridge a stove, a bathroom two bedroom for you and your kids. It all depends on what state you’re going to like New York you will get that but one thing that they’re not gonna stop you from getting your food you can order your food and a security guard. Will let you go get your food from the delivery person. I think they need to change the rules over here at Betty Shelter. I think they’re supposed to be someone here to clean the bathroom or also use the bathroom supposed to clean the bathroom. I think Betty supposed to provide bleach laundry detergent all those personal items those little things for people to use and for them to clean the shelter if there’s no janitor And is it right for whose whoever is staying here to clean be behind himself, but there’s no bleach there’s nothing to make the place smell good there’s no air freshener and you cannot Use the washer and dryer that they have. You’re telling me homeless people that don’t have any money have to figure out a way how how to find money to go wash when Betty have A washer in a dryer and the staff cannot make sure whatever someone leave the room they clean the room the room that I came in I don’t even clean the garbage that’s on top of The bunkbed I leave it the same way I see it . No...
Read moreThis is to Betty Chinn. My husband and I stayed at your village. If that's what you call it. Room 13 and 14. The room for couples and families. Since you can delete my posts I have them saved ready to copy and paste it again. If anyone has stayed at her village and strugglesd to eat there you ain't the only one. There was 3 days she didn't show up for breakfast and we went hungry. Check out her Facebook. Those 3 days she was more worried about her image then feeding the homeless she so deeply cares about. Even some of her own staff sees what's going on and the reality of who she really is. I spoke to alot of the locals of Eureka and they blame her for the way this town has become. Because of her poor food choices and a lack of nutrition she gives to her guests I recently was diagnosed with diabetes. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and due very soon. I spoke to my doctor about the situation I was in when I stayed here. Luckily my baby is alright but if I had stayed there any longer my unborn child would have eventually had some serious health problems. I have moved back to my own state and now I'm eating correctly and getting the proper care through the homeless programs. They put us into a hotel program and only ask to pay 30% of what we make a month. Within one day I have all my needs as a pregnant woman. And Betty couldn't even do that for my family. Instead she punished me for expressing concerns and asking questions. Anyone who is struggling please go else where. If it seems like there is no help out there but there is. Don't give up, stay strong and I promise there are humans being that actually care. Betty you ain't one of them. I promise you this just like the 2 other organizations before you who screwed me over who are no longer open and have been shut down due to treating people like animals, you will soon follow the same path. Actually your organization already is starting to crumble. Your money making days off the people who really need the...
Read moreBefore Betty opened up the showers for the homeless. I was homeless in Eureka. This woman, fed me, clothed me, gave me a free tent and sleeping bag. From what I can remember she was a no nonsense person, very kind and literally saved my life.
Without her help I would not be in the position I am in today, physically and mentally.
I can not thank this woman enough for her support.
Anyone who trashes this woman doesn't know her, if you people had any idea where she came from and what she has done for THOUSANDS of people in her life your opinion would change.
Stop complaining about living conditions. Without her you wouldn't be able to shower and be sleeping on a sidewalk.
As for meals she used to only feed the homeless once a day.
Help yourselves, Betty isn't a handout she wants you to better yourself.
I'll respect Betty Chinn for the rest of my life.
She is an amazing...
