This restaurant had been one of our favorites but our last few experiences have made us realize we will need to find a new place to dine before the Silvertips games. Last night was the final straw. We sat downstairs and initially the service seemed like it was going to be fine. Our server came over and brought us food menus and we asked about drink options. We’ve dined upstairs for many years and had a pretty good idea of our options, just didn’t know if the taps had changed. We gave our drink order and she asked if we were eating, we said yes and she took our order. Our bad! We should have explained we like to visit over a drink while perusing the menu. She put our food order in immediately. My cup of soup was then delivered before our beers had been poured. I had intended my soup to be part of the meal. No worries I could just let it sit everyone else’s meal was delivered. The bartender hadn’t started on our 3 beers. The server went over and asked her for our beers. She seemed a little put out by the request. She was in a deep conversation with a man and woman at the bar. Ten to fifteen minutes later our beers were delivered. There had been 2 Hefeweizens delivered to the table and I wanted a lemon and asked our server. She requested one from the server who seemed to point at the large glass door refrigerator. The server pulled out a garnish tray and proceeded to toothpick a lemon wedge or two and dispose of them. Our server came to the table and said the bartender would cut a fresh lemon. I said thanks. We waited as the bartender and her friends continued their conversation and ate a couple of slim Jim’s and a box of wheat thins at the bar. In the meantime the rest of our food showed up. We asked for another round of beers and our server went upstairs to get the lemon. Not a good look for a restaurant.
I was getting my hair done today and my hairdresser asked about last night. When she heard about my experience last night she shared a similar story from 2 weeks ago from the Irishman from 2 weeks ago. She and her husband had gone to an event next door and stopped in for dinner prior. The same bartender hadn’t started not even brought menus to the table. They left without water even being delivered to the table. They stopped upstairs to tell them of the dismal service downstairs.
So sad- great food but that service will chase away previously loyal customers. I know it will be awhile before I spend my hard earned dollars in that...
Read moreVisited Everett for a large group work trip. I had great time and high hopes with this bar. Thank you Lex! Best bartender - a true rockstar. All seemed well for 3 nights in a row, until we met the owner.
I was with two others, it was closing time - no problem. We get it, we are a group of 3 chill people sitting at the bar, chitchatting, its closing time. All was well, until the bartender of the night (sorry, I forget your name - you were great until you), literally grabbed my foreign friends 1/4 beer out of his hands, demanding we leave. He obliged, but requested to take a quick piss if there was time before they locked the doors. The pee was granted. During the 40 second piss break my dude took, myself and my other friend look over to the far end of the bar - only to notice special privileges were being made for the bar owners "friends".
Apparently Washington State Liquor Law does not apply to that end of the bar, with these two "friends", with full beer and whiskey glasses - after 2am. Now confused, we presented the question - looking for clarity on the issue. A man speaks up. Apparently this man happens to be the OWNER. He states - "Yeah, too bad. I own the place. That's how the bar industry works ".
Flabergasted - wow, cool, bro. Glad your "friends", were able to finish their full beers & liquor after legal operating hours, but your paying customers were not allowed to finish the last remaining two gulps that were legally paid for.
Apparently the state liquor laws do not apply to your bar. I hope you take a closer look into your state liquor license operating laws. Let this be a learning tool. Don't treat your paying customers differently than your friends. This special treatment for your friends, caused my group of 30 friends, to find another establishment. Congratulations, sir - you hurt your bartenders pockets this week.
Too bad because this bar has a great vibe, great food, and great bartenders - but customer service is important. And it all stems...
Read moreI usually love going here. As a bartender I always appreciated the service and atmosphere. Unfortunately yesterday (8/29/18) in the evening, I had the worst experience there I've ever had. First and foremost were we're sitting away the table for 10 minutes before being greeted; it was only as we decided to go sit at the bar that we were told she would be with us soon. So we're waiting a bit longer and and she took our order. I ordered a water and beef stew and the server was clearly irritated that I ordered water.... the food came out luke warm when it did come out... I wanted to leave once I had finished my food, beer, and water but the server was too busy blatantly flirting with the table right next to me. I tried to ask for the check after about 5 minutes of that but got ignored... then after the server goes blatantly flirts with two older gentleman in the back she comes back and throws or bills away is without saying a word. At this point we had finished everything we ordered a long time ago but still she goes and just starts talking to the table next to me. After that instead of taking my bill she walks away... I ask the bartender to cash me out since I've been waiting for almost 20 minutes and was told to wait at my table. So I wait longer and finally when the server and bartender are busy giggling behind bar I remind them I need my check so I can leave and after that the bartender asked me "Do you know how this works?" I know exactly what bad service is. And after that I was told to never come back... so let me get this straight... I can't express that I had bad service without getting...
