Started off so strong and then got disappointed come the pasta and afterwards. It was just us and a couple other tables. Can’t speak much on the atmosphere. But it was a clean restaurant with an open kitchen. Open kitchen also means, our clothes and hair smelled like the cooking odors after. All the starters we had were delicious, would totally eat those again. Shishito peppers were on point. Perfectly cooked and all the flavors went well. Wish there was most garlic aioli on the plate though. Baby gem lettuce was flavorful and refreshing. The watermelon was so fresh. The burrata was good, the flavors went well together, needed a smidge more salt or acid though. The bruschetta was amazing! I would eat 10 of them if I could. Even the olive oil was present and amazing on this dish. Charred broccoli was okay, needed more of everything for the flavors to come through. Come the pastas, sadly disappointed. Both pasta dishes we ordered (spaghetti and strozzapreti) were both lacking in flavor. Like they were watered down. The spaghetti wasn’t balanced on flavors either, too acidic in a sense. Between the 2, the strozzapreti was the better of the two for sure. I will say though the pasta noodles itself, cooked properly al dente. Just wish the sauces had better flavor. And for the dessert, the olive oil cake is a pass! The cake itself had a good texture. But the flavors were so bland even with all the add ons and creme fraiche. Definitely not worth the calories or the money. Service was good. They were very kind. Parking - it’s like a small downtown area so it’s street parking but it’s free!

Tonight we dined at our friend Chef Jimmy’s Caper and Olives. We have known Jimmy for many years, from his time at Terracotta Red, a Chinese Fusion restaurant.. His background includes “The Herb Farm” a Five Diamond Restaurant in Woodinville. The restaurant has an open exhibition kitchen where you can observe the chef in action. He makes his own pastas and his food is comparable to the finest dining places in Seattle. It had been a while since we visited Jimmy. He saw us walking in the door and came from behind the kitchen to hug me and welcome us. The restaurant is quaint and eclectic and oozes warmth and is very welcoming. We started with Focaccia bread, served with herb butter and sea salt. Next, we had a Pear Salad with truffle salt, thyme and pine nuts and a Baby Kale Salad with apple slices, chopped hazelnuts, parmesan and burnt vinaigrette dressing. Our first entree choice was the Paccheri Pasta with gulf prawns, fennel, sofritto, tomatoes and chili. For the second entree, we chose Halal Mary’s Chicken served with polenta, radicchio, and au jus. For dessert, Chef Jimmy surprised us with a complimentary buttermilk Panna Cotta with rhubarb and shortbread crumble. As always, everything was delicious and the taste was out of this world. I would encourage you to visit this excellent restaurant. Support our local restaurants.

Saturday was my first time here, but I can't stop thinking about this dinner two days later and can't wait to come back. The service was quick and kind, and you can tell the staff works as a unit, with the chef bringing dishes to tables, and offering dessert specials, as the servers keep the pace flowing. It was such a relaxing and special experience. The food was so fresh and delicious, from the outstanding focaccia served steaming and bruschetta appetizer (unfortunately, not pictured, more so good I forgot to take a photo and I was right), to the fresh pasta that was almost impossible to pick just one because they all sounded amazing, to the best strawberry shortcake I've ever had - this seasonal, farm-fresh menu went beyond my expectations. I can't stop talking about or thinking about this shortcake... We were there for happy hour on a Saturday, and we got a table right away, but it started to fill up before leaving, so if you're going for dinner on a busy night, I recommend reservations, just to be safe. I cannot wait to come back and be blown away again!

Terrible experience. Ate here with my wife for our anniversary. We were hoping to take our time, enjoy a couple drinks, and then start in on food. The waitress was immediately adamant to take a food order after we said we wanted to start with drinks. It was clear she was trying to turn our table quickly. The restaurant had just opened and was mostly empty at this time... We were sat in the window because I asked the host (same younger woman as our server) ahead of time if they could try and make the evening a little more special for our anniversary. What a mistake. By the time our food came my wife and I felt like we were trapped in a hot car in summer. So much so it ruined our appetite and my wife actually got sick while we were there. This restaurant has no AC or fans. After, I asked if we could be moved to the patio and let the server know the situation. Mind you, I am not a confrontational person and the restaurant was still mostly empty... She replied, "well you did ask for this spot". No, I asked to make our evening a little more special. After a bit of back and forth, and trying to be apologetic about the burden, I finally asked for the check and some boxes. It became clear she was not willing to move us and there was no way I was making my wife stay there any longer. We were in and out in maybe 30 minutes. Lastly, the food was just okay and overpriced. I could hear the chef teaching someone how to cook a steak from their open style kitchen. I was excited for this place but very disappointed in...

So let me preface this as a former restaurant owner. I hope the owner reads this. Let me start with the good. Food taste was very good and creative. Menu was diverse and interesting. Now the bad. Service. We had a very nice young lady who told us it was her 3rd day so she obviously didn't know what she was doing. Problem was, the drinks were a bit complicated for her and took us 30 minutes after sitting down for our party of 6 to all have our cocktails. Totally unacceptable. She was not ready to be on her own. That is on the owner. Food. very small portions, especially the pasta. Smallest pasta portions I have had in an Italian restaurant. Also, since the portions are so small, the owner could offer bread for the table. No bread. The other portions were tiny. We had the Chicken, and 4 bites and our plate was gone. Sorry, chicken is inexpensive, so don't skimp on portion sizes. Taste was great but we were still hungry after dinner. Lastly, noise. This place is LOUD. They need some sound baffles to dissapate the sound since if you sit across from someone, you can't hear them. Owner of the restaurant. Please, go out to a table on a busy night and sit down and try to talk to your guests. Not gonna happen. Sadly, the place is nicely decorated but if these items don't change, they won't keep customers. Owner, don't skimp on the sizes of your plates, it's cheap and poor management. Don't make your customers stop off somewhere on the way home since they are...
