These "Katie Og NO!" reviews are based on habitual deceptive business practices. As for a my dealings,I found out the hard way. These are the largest case of LACK OF INTEGRETY I have ever seen in my life. Insulted my intelligence as if was the meth addict that was sitting at his business doorstep. I went in twice. First time, got burnt royal. 2nd time, didn't go for it, it just seemed like a rip off. So I made JUST 1 PHONE CALL. WOW! If you are considering selling him a piece GO ELSEWHERE. If you read this & sell bill at Katie O any gold or silver piece YOU ARE HURTING YOURSELF! Bill pays 1/3 the going price for the day. SEATTLE GOLD PAYS YOU 4/5 THE VALUE OF THE DAY!!! Calculated: On a $1,000 piece at Katio O's you got $333.00. AT SEATTLE GOLD YOU GET $800.00!!! Katie O's been in business 40 YRS claims you can't get a better price. 3 generations, that's 13.3 yrs/generation. They all made a fast killing? They all couldn't survive scamming? I feel like SUCH A FOOL FO.R SELLING bill my gold watch WITHOUT CALLING SEATTLE. GOLD Cost myself $600.00!!! I only had 1 gold watch & feel bill took advantage of my trust. This time this offer just seemed TOO CHEAP. But learned this go around. I took another piece in today but had some information on the weight value. He pays 1/3rd market value. Other places pay 4/5th market value! In other words other places pay you TWICE AS MUCH.Basically I feel like a fool. Be forewarned. My instinct was that he has too many speeches about how other places are crooked, don't have his contacts, 3 generations of business, 40 yrs running, Nordstroms and Katie's. Fine jewelry deal with Korean assembly lines, yadda yadda. Why would bill feel inclined to bad mouth everybody else? Then when bill said $12/oz is the best I can find when this market says $27/oz.??? Felt too fishy; THAT'S WHEN I FOUND OUT HE TOOK ME FOR $300-$500 the 1rst time I went in. If BILL WILL screw you with lies when he's buying, leopord's spots don't change when selling....
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about Katie O Fine Jewelry and Bill!! I was recommended to them by someone I met at a jewelry counter of a big box store, and so glad I did. From the beginning, Bill was knowledgeable, never pushy, and worked with me to ensure I got the ring I wanted within budget. I began with the intent on creating a customized piece as I was having trouble finding exactly what I was looking for (I'm REALLY picky and particular about what I like), and he immediately went to work with his designer and diamond suppliers. During the process I had to take a "break" and not only was he completely understanding, his patience and follow up blew me away. He touched base a couple months later at the perfect time and within the week he found the most amazing emerald cut stone. I needed my ring back in 3 weeks time for the wedding, Bill didn't make false promises to close the sale but instead informed me that it more than likely wasn't enough time (I completely understood). I then heard back a day later his designer could make it happen, even with his busy schedule. They not only met the deadline they got my ring to me within a week and a half! Needless to say I was so, so impressed with their work, perseverance, and the end product...I LOVE my ring and wouldn't want anything else. Thank you so much Bill and team for a fantastic experience and stunning piece of quality jewelry that will last not only through my lifetime but many more after...one of many I will be able to pass along to my daughter. I'll definitely return for more...
Read moreDescription of My Engagement Ring: Band is made of sterling silver and the stone is a 7mm lab-cultured white sapphire (I didn't want him to invest in an expensive ring yet because I'd rather we use that money to buy a home or new car). I have to wear it on my middle finger because the size is too big for my ring finger. Besides, I work 2 jobs: One as a toddler teacher between the ages 1-3 and the other at a hospital and I care for patients; why would I want to wear a ring that can harm the people I take care of? So I leave it at home or wear it on date nights with him (on my middle finger...)
Customer Service Shortened Down to My Favorite Quotes from the Man Sitting in His Chair Behind the Desk: •After he looks at my ring: "This is costume jewelry. The stone isn't even a real diamond!" smiles and laughs about it • After I asked for a quote: "It'll cost as much as the ring: $75." • After I told him I wanted to get a white gold ring for our 10 year anniversary: "If your ring lasts that long." (After that I explained to him that I never really wear my ring)
If you have real gold, not silver ("gold is easier to size than silver") then give them a try and maybe you'll have better service. Just be sure everything you have is real or he'll look and talk down...
