I'm a huge BBQ fan, so finding out this was a place endorsed by Guy Fieri had me all sorts of excited! To start with, the food here was good. I had brisket with potato salad and garden salad. The wait staff was also excellent. I enjoyed talking with the bartender, and she made some winning recommendations for which beer I should try next. They make their own in-house sauces too - which are amazingly good! My problem was with the portions. I left still wanting more. But it was late and the kitchen had already shut down by the time I asked about ordering more food. I've been to plenty of other BBQ places though while I've been traveling. This ranks right up there in taste but lacking in portions. This is even considering that I was given extra salad by accident. The salad went surprisingly well with kolsch by the way. Can't say I enjoy beer with my salad very often, but I did here! This place is definitely worth stopping in to grab a bite. Just be prepared to still be rummaging for munchies later when you get home. I've went to other places with comparable prices and served so much food I had to take half of it home for an entire 2nd meal the next day. This is not the case here, unless you splurge for the pig out platter. Again, excellent food and wait staff, lacking in portions for the price. But it's also possible that brisket is more expensive for them to get up here with COVID too. I dropped over $20 on food here, not including drinks, so I'll leave a picture and let you decide. Again, excellent taste but just wish there was a little more.

We came here because of the good reviews, and were really disappointed. This is at most an okay-ish BBQ place. We were very DISAPPOINTED AND UNDERWHELMED with the food. We ordered 1/4 lb of various foods (brisket, ribs, burnt ends and pulled pork) in order to taste a variety of their BBQ foods. The pulled pork was barely 1/4 lb and, the ribs burned, yet the burnt ends had nothing „burnt“ and tasted like brisket with BBQ sauce. They likely ran out of this food and instead of saying anything they just put something else together and called it burnt ends („Dumb tourist sure won’t notice.) The brisket was okay-ish. Most importantly, all food was cold on arrival… a Restaurant (whether BBQ or not) should be able to deliver warm/hot food. We’ve eaten at many BBQs places in the past, all over the country and even the world. We’d say, that the foods in at least 95% if not all of them was better. If these are „Fairbank’s best BBQ ribs“, I almost feel sorry for the folks here… because that means that they are missing out on some delicious, life changing BBQ food. Sienna was a nice waitress, very attentive and constantly checking in on us, no issues with the service… but because of the bad experience with the food, we will not eat here again…

Wife and I ate lunch here today during our visit to Alaska. We ordered brisket burnt ends appetizer, pulled pork sandwich with fries, and baked beans. First, the burnt ends. They were awesome. So tender, they just melted in your mouth. This was brisket burnt end done right. There were more than what is shown in the pic. They were so good, I almost forgot to take a pic. You get a half pound per order. The pulled pork sandwich were moist and tender and had nice bark on the meat. They had an assortment of bbq sauces. We enjoy the KC sweet. The fries were hot and were cooked perfectly. The baked beans were very good. Had nice bits of meat in them. This restaurant is a must eat at if you like BBQ. I have only two complaints. 1. I like my baked beans thicker. The flavor was great, I just like them thicker. 2. The cheap toothpicks were just not up to the task of getting the meat from between my teeth. They broke too easy. If you want bbq, this is a place to try for sure.

Can't believe the bad reviews, but most of them were from months past. We were in Fairbanks the first week of June 2014 and ate there three days out of the four and a half we were there. First meal was at lunch, which happened to be the $1.00 rib day and they were fantastic. Hub and I had different sides and liked them as well. The other couple seemed very happy with their ribs & sides as well. Fantastic service from Amanda. went back the next night for wings. They were great, big and meaty and had all different sides and wow, they were wonderful. Server was not so good, wish we could find the receipt with her name. They were also very packed that night, but she was not attentive nor came back to check on things. Our last day there we went back for lunch again, had sandwiches (one was smoked turkey and the other was ham). Amanda was great in describing things and making recommendations. She knows that menu/the food and is a real asset to the restaurant. I would recommend that place to anyone and everyone and in fact, we have talked up that place a lot! Would love to go back again soon, but it is a very long plane ride to get there from Virginia....but it would be worth it. So yes, we know BBQ, we eat BBQ all the time, we make BBQ all the time (we have a Big Green Egg smoker) those ribs were so tender and juicy and delicious. PS - we have driven to Kansas City a couple of times for BBQ and if it wasn't a hell of a long drive to get to Fairbanks, we would probably drive there for Big Daddy's! I'm really sorry to hear that some people had bad food there. Service is a different matter and poor service should always be brought to a manager's attention. As far as the previous remarks about the prices, Big Daddy's was the most reasonably priced place we ate at. All of Alaska was extremely expensive, meal prices were very, very expensive including the other places we dined at in Fairbanks. (My choice to eat another night would have been Big Daddy's but the other couple chose the location.) My husband is so picky and for Big Daddy's to have impressed...

The single worst dining experience I've ever had in any state in any country. We waited over 45 minutes for the food just to be told they ran out of the chicken. The server was overbooked with too many tables. It was loud, cramped, expensive and not very good food. A family of five, three of which eat meat. The other two ordered the fish, Cod. The Cod looked like it came out of a frozen package. same shape and same thickness as you would find at Costco in the frozen section. To further exacerbate the situation the fish was cold and tasteless Regardless of what you order the portions are small and expensive. Those of us in the party that ordered meat as well as the people who ordered fish all received about 12 french fries with their meal. I tried to talk to the manager, a young woman, who had all the answers for all the complaints. It was very obvious that I wasn't the first person who has complained about the poor service and poor food. When asked why they didn't know they had run out of the chicken and let us sit there for 45 minutes she began to blame the server. As a leader, she should know not to take the easy way out and blame the person who is busting butt, the server. I am so confident it was not a server issue, they received a tip as if nothing had happened. The manager's attitude, demeanor and tone was disgraceful. The following day we ate at Denny's for less money, better service, and the food tasted good. Maybe Big Daddy's Barbecue should take lessons from Denny's. So in summary, go to Big Daddy's BBQ if you want poor service, fish from the frozen food section and small portions for...
