Five Guys — Restaurant in Fairfax

I visited on a Wednesday evening and placed my order online for a hamburger, hot dog, and little fries. My order was ready within a few minutes after the time indicated. They could improve the service by checking to see if someone has arrived for a completed online order. I saw a staff member place a bag for pickup behind the screen, but I did not know it was mine. After I waited for a couple of minutes, I asked about my order and when they looked at the bags they saw my name matching one of the bags. Overall the staff seemed relatively attentive to people wanting to place and pickup orders and worked rather quietly and intently from what I saw. At a glance the place looked clean and maintained.

The food itself was consistent with a couple of other experiences at this location several months ago. My burger was warm, cooked properly, relatively juicy, and had crispy green peppers and cooked onions and mushrooms. The hot dog was likewise warm with the proper condiments and good taste. Fries were portioned generously (see bag picture for idea) and tasted as I remembered. I found my order to not be nearly as salty as I might fear for this kind of food.

20231006 way overdue for five guys! 20220305 I heated up the leftover fries in my air fryer and the fries turned out great! Less greasy and so crunchy!! 20220304 I returned tonight for some of their yummy fries, and decided to get a meal. I got a small fries and it is big enough for 2 people. I was only able to eat half. The employee at the register was very helpful and friendly, and he is also a hard worker because when not busy, he would clean the tables and floor. You might want to be careful what kind of shoes to wear into this restaurant because the floor can be slippery. I almost fell but luckily I grabbed the bathroom door handle. 3 years ago... My first time eating at this location. The restaurant is spacious and clean. The restrooms are clean, too. The staff is very friendly. I ordered a small bacon cheeseburger, a small Cajun fries and a regular drink. They have the older style soda machine, not the fancy "select a flavor" soda machines that some of their locations have. The food was cooked to perfection. The Cajun fries has a spicy kick to it. The burger was perfectly stacked and wrapped. I wish their credit card machine has an option to add tips. Not a good experience. I'm not always such a germ freak, but the air is on fire from Canada and it's gross. When I go to a restaurant like Five Guys I don't want to be put off by the lack of hand washing. I observed one out of the four employees present mime their hand washing but I watched two others come from the back, one starting their shift and handling personal items and the other doing trash and then buckets of fries. No hand washing in between. Going from trash to grill with no hand washing is just a hard no from me. I really enjoy this food, but we need to have some standards.
