Bad job at customer service. We ordered a dog themed cake for my daughter's 7th birthday days in advance. A preview of what the cake was supposed to look like was presented to my wife when she walked into place the order, and we accepted it and were excited for how our daughter would react to see her cake with cute dog illustrations on it.

Come day of the birthday party: My mother in law went to pick up the cake. When she got there the cake looked not even close to what it was supposed to be! The girl at the counter had the audacity to tell my mother law that each additional confectionery dog figurine would be an additional $5 on top of what we already paid!!! I work in customer service and if we screwed up an order so bad for someone like they did for us we would've offered free delivery and a decent discount for our bumbling. But no, Alina and her bakery offered none of the above and the cake ended up costing us more than we were quoted. We couldn't come home empty handed with no cake to a Seven year old, so we had no choice to take it.

Don't go there, very bad experience and poor attitude and a refusal to make things to make the customer happy. A discount would've been acceptable since my mother in law was already there to pick it up. BUT NO! It cost more and the cake wasn't even good. Way too much frosting.

Part of it was our fault, we took someone's recommendation to try Alina's, when we should've stuck with the one's who never disappoint. Chaves Bakery, who always promise everything you ask for and won't charge extra for...

Extremely disappointed. Pre-ordered a cake for a Thanksgiving party, was $50 total (with a special layer of ganache for extra pricing). With this type of pricing, I was expecting a very premium cake and to my surprise, ended up with a cake where the wording looked extremely sloppy and quickly written. The flowers were done nicely, but the wording was far apart, and cut off to say "thanksgi- (on the next line) ving. It was broken up in a confusing way, opposed to writing it perpendicular to the decorations to fit it all. Or, writing it in a smaller way, or at the very minimum, writing "happy thanks- (next line) giving". When I was in the store, they briefly showed the cake to me before I was leaving, but I took a quick glance, thought the flowers looked fine, didn't think I had to thoroughly look at the writing (and wasn't right next to it). When I got home and discovered it, I was very disappointed. I called, to let them know about this and ask for a refund of any type, and they said that they won't do refunds on the writing, and that I should of let them know while I was still there. They all said that this is why some people don't get writing if they can't fit it, and I said that had they told me on the phone that it would've been cut off and looking like this- I wouldn't have gotten the writing but I was not given an opportunity while ordering. I showed the cake photo to a few people who thought it looked extremely sloppy writing wise, and not worth that money. All in all, not a...

I have been a very satisfied Alina’s customer for years and confidently would go to her for any major event in my life that requires a beautiful and thoughtful cake. I recently ordered a cake for a surprise 70th birthday party and could not be more disappointed. When I came in to pick it up the cake on my way to the surprise party-the very lovely young man working behind the counter knew before showing me that something was off. I expressed that it did not look presentable and he quickly offered to do whatever he could to remedy the situation. I left having to rush around to find alternative solutions to try and make up for the haphazard and thoughtless presentation of what I was given.

I sent a personalized email to Alina and the bakery-expressing my disappointment as a long time customer and praising the problem solving and customer service of the gentleman working and kindly asked for a reply or acknowledgement of the email I sent. I am only submitting a review now as it has been over 5 weeks and I still have received no response from the bakery.

Sadly I will now be searching for a new bakery and would no longer confidently recommend Alina’s to anyone looking to pay a premium for...

I ordered plain cookies in hand shape without any frosting or decoration or flavour on May 6th 2024. I gave them my new hand shaped cookie cutter. She asked me to pay $4 per cookie and i ordered a dozen. They made worst cookies. Smells really bad, my daughter refused to eat. many were cracking and broke. Not consistent at all. I got my order and saw my cutter was missing. They asked me to come back. I went there multiple times to collect as it was urgent for me to get it for my next orders. I called many times but they kept making excuses and keep saying sorry and asked me to come back. Today June 13th 2024 (more than a month) i called again and they keep putting me on hold. Then they finally picked up and told me that they lost it. They said i can go and get the refund of cutter. I went there and the owner, instead of feeling sorry was extremely rude to me and my sister. I really hate everything about this place. I thought to help another small business owner of my town, but she showed worst attitude to me. Please read all reviews before you order something here. I had the worst experience with them 🙏🏻

My family and I moved to the greater Bridgeport area a little over a year ago and one day while at the UPS store we saw Alina’s. Since then it’s been great experience after great experience. My girlfriend and I ordered two cakes for our sons baptism and everyone loved them, usually you have cake to bring home, but that was not the case here, everything was gone down to the frosting. A few weeks later our little one celebrated his first birthday and we ordered a cake and sugar cookies and the deign and taste was nothing short of delightful. Alina and her team do their best to satisfy, we frequent the place so much we know most of the front of the hose associates by name. I would like to give an even bigger shout out to Yasmine and Susanna who are both so welcoming and greeting us with smiles and samples. We recently found out she opened a new location in Westport and they sell freshly made breads, I’m going curb my review but if you’ve made it this far, please go. The treats are well worth it.
