Won't go here again. I don't know if they assumed we were tourists or something but it was like they naturally assumed we weren't returning. And now we won't. Total of 5 of us, 3 of which were kids, ate here. First thing we did is ask for a booth because I have a broken back and their table chairs hurt me after about 60 seconds of sitting in them. Said they had none open. Passed two clean booths on the way to sitting down. Ok, whatever, maybe the host didn't get an update on the tables. Ordering wasn't a problem till we asked for a minute to let my girl order food. She had to use the restroom with our youngest. Server didn't come back for about 10 minutes. Not a huge issue or complaint, but this began what later made me feel I should have just walked out after my kids ate their fill without paying. It took about 8 minutes for us to get our first kid's dish (perfectly ok time, no problems here). After that, it took almost 20 minutes for them to bring out the final dish we ordered. One of the kid's dishes were served in halves. Then I was served third, and I won't eat my food until my girl has been served, which came about 12 minutes later. So naturally, food got cold. When they finally gave my girl her meal, I asked them to re-heat my dish. So they promptly put it in the microwave so that my food could have that delicious microwaved taste, unevenly heated, with all the meat nice and rubbery.
Then, there was the order itself. I ordered a dish that said, "Waffles." That's "Waffle" with an "s" at the end. This means plural. As in, more than 1. What they actually serve you is a single waffle cut in half. Then, they call it two. Had I known the dish was going to be singular, I would have made a different order. This is false advertising. And before you think, "Well, now he's just whining." Directly below the item I ordered listed a second waffle dish, stating specifically there was only 1 waffle. So either there is a typo that is misleading customers, or they are saving money by assuming people won't know how to count passed 1. Then, the dish itself doesn't come with syrup. For a waffle. Instead, it came with a sugary creme that was basically like creamer with a very small amount of cinnamon in it. Nothing sugary or anything about it. It was actually kind of bitter and I didn't use any of it.
Flies were everywhere, the waitress didn't seem to interested in assisting us since we were there 60 minutes and she showed up 5 times, 2 of which was to drop of the check twice. When we finally got the check, I asked for a discount since there were so many issues (some of which I didn't list), and she disappears for another 8 minutes. She then reappears with a new receipt. New total I had to pay for? Exactly the same price. I asked her if they gave us the discount before we asked for it, because the dish she said was removed was indeed removed on the receipt, but the total was the same. Her response was, "I talked to the manager and they took off the french toast." But did they discount us before we asked for the discount? No idea, we weren't given the original receipt, but the total was the same either way. We didn't get our discount for crappy food, service, and flies in our meal.
I don't normally get upset with servers for kitchen problems (and I rarely waste my time leaving reviews), but she had made zero effort to figure out what was the hold up since two tables who came in after us were served big meals before us, and we were sporadically getting our order as if they were throwing darts on what to make us next. 10096 Desiree was our server on 10-27-17 at 2:45 pm according to my receipt. Whoever was in the kitchen at this time should be written up...
Read moreFirs thing anyone should know, is I have worked in the hospitality industry for many years. I came to eat with my mom and Grandma. I was excited to go to Mimi's because I hadn't been in so long (plus I used to work at the one in Dublin a long time ago), but upon entering the establishment, the manager was not very welcoming. She seemed like she had an attitude. I asked for a booth (only because my grandma prefers a booth) and I swear, it's like she was irritated that I asked, so she put us right next to the bathroom, which I noticed right away but didn't say anything. I just went with it because it's already hard enough getting my grandma from a to b. When I go to sit at the booth, I realize the booth doesn't fit me well. I just dealt with it even though it was a tight fit. I didn't notice right away but later I saw There were greasy prints on the back of the booth and the condiments were filthy looking. Doesn't look like they've been cleaned in several days. (Pics below) The service wasn't great and the food was horrible. I ordered the French Quarter Burger and when it came out, it was so sloppily put together and when I picked up the burger, the bread wasn't grilled on the underside. The server was not very attentive and it was hard to get her attention, since we were in the back, in the corner and she barely ever looked our way. I had to speak up loud which I don't want to have to do, with other patrons there. It Took very long to get refills or even mustard with my burger, because of this. I told the server about the burger it and she said she would get her manager. The manager came and asked what was wrong and I told her, and she said, "What would you like me to do?" In my mind, I just wanted her to say she would take it off, without asking me what I wanted her to do. Obviously, there is a problem with the food quality. She didn't seem to be genuinely concerned which is a concern all on its own but judging by how the rest of the place looks...you be the judge. Just...overall, a horrible experience at this location. Mimi's used to be so good. Not so much anymore. Also they don't offer bread or carrot raisin bread, included with the meal, like they used to. That was something I was really looking forward to. Now they have carrot raisin "Madeline's" you can add to your bill. Bring back the BBQ Meatloaf and garlic red skin mashed...
Read moreI think this place is cursed as far as online ordering goes. Also, the staff is VERY rude. Every time I've been here, the staff has treated me poorly.
I tried to order online through their website. I just wanted one 3-course turkey dinner to go. I've ordered before last year and had no issues. But this time, it wanted to pre-authorize my credit card and said it would charge me 101% of the order to do that. Ummmm, what?? And this was not a catering order, either (I double-checked). So, I decided to try GrubHub and Seamless. I tried to place an order for the 3-course meal and it said there was an error. I tried on different accounts and different computers, but it kept getting an error for that meal.
So, finally, I tried Doordash. Everything went through just fine and I headed to the restaurant. I arrived and they said my order was cancelled. Um, what? I never got anything from Doordash about that. I called Doordash and they never got word of that, either, but on Mimi's end it said it was "denied" or "cancelled." There is NOTHING wrong with my card and I am not a delinquent. The manager there was also very rude about it and not at all apologetic, just blaming Doordash for everything. I just told the guy on Doordash to refund the money (apparently it went through on Doordash's end, but not on Mimi's end... so obviously something is wrong with THEIR system).
I will never return to this location again. They can keep their food and their...
