This new Chinese/Japanese establishment replaced my favorite General Tso's place (House of Hunan) so I was sad but wanted to see how it held up.
Their recipe is very similar but not quite as flavorful and dynamic. Still good, with decent fried rice. Egg rolls were very excellent with great flavor and crunch!
The sushi was standard quality, nothing special, but also fairly priced.
Unfortunately the ramen was...strange...it didn't taste or smell like any ramen I've ever had before, and I definitely can't recommend it.
There is NO alcohol of any kind here, which I found rather disappointing, since some sake or japanese beer with sushi is a must for me.
Service was prompt and efficient but felt very cold. No conversation, smiles, or friendliness, just curt efficiency. It made the visit feel rather uncomfortable, as if our whole group were unexpected and slightly unwelcome guests.
The environment was also a bit uncomfortably quiet, almost like a library, with rather drab lighting that was neither bright, nor romantically dim or fancy.
All in all, the food was pretty good, prices were fair but not super cheap (Their website didn't have any prices so I wasn't sure what I was walking into. Photos of menu attached). I would get take out from here but unfortunately can't recommend the dining experience, or say I would go out of my way to get food from here. Nothing particularly bad but nothing...
Read moreHad to go to post office, so thought I would try Ki. Wow, is it good. Wish I could give it 7 stars. The restaurant itself is not huge, but laid out well. Walk in and there is a small bar on the right and a sushi bar, with a sushi chef on the left, straight ahead is the dining room. The House of Hunan occupied the same space. I was given a hard bound menu with the lunch specials on the last page. There are a number of choices, all at $8.25. I chose General Tsos chicken. I know it's not authentic, but I really like it. I got a cup of wanton soup, which was included as part of the special. The soup was very good. Then came the general, which was noted on the menu as being spicy. It had just the right amount of heat. Along with the the general came rice which was superbly prepared. All of this for $8.25. I am an iced tea junky. For $2.75 I had the best iced tea I can remember. So, for $11.00 plus tip I had lunch in a pleasant sit down restaurant. The young lady who waited on me was pleasant and efficient. Ki Asian Cuisine is the right restaurant at the right place, at the right time. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO HERE. TELL 'EM THAT NICK SENT YOU. Just kidding, they dont know me from a...
Read moreUpgrading my review. We had Mongolian beef, General Tso's chicken and miso soup. And all were awesome. Found my new favorite restaurant! Thank you for the wonderful meal!
Ordered carryout yesterday. Was hoping Ki Asian cuisine would be a good replacement for the House of Hunan. The food was packed well and hot when I returned home. My wonton soup was flavorless and watery. The chicken broth appeared to be a commercial chicken base rather than actual chicken broth. It's lacked Ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil. It did have some sliced green scallions for garnish. The hot sour soup was okay but very sweet from too much sugar. It had an ample amount of veggies and mushrooms however lacked flavor of vinegar and hot pepper flakes. My orange beef was also lacking in flavor. There were large pieces of orange peel rather than an orange zest which would give it more flavor. It also needed some Asian chili garlic paste, toasted sesame oil and vinegar. My wife's broccoli and chicken was also very bland however the chicken was moist and juicy. I understand the restaurant has only been open a couple of weeks. I'm leaving this review as...
