My family has been going to Krauses for many many years, my grandma basically lives in this store. There is no denying this is the best chocolate in New Jersey. Here comes the BUT... Yesterday I went in for a pound of chocolate and I did not realize to get it wrapped there was a $1.00 charge (not that I care about the dollar). At this point in time I already paid with my card, so when I asked I said here is my card. Then I was told there is a minimum for a charge they cannot charge my card $1.00. Unfortunately I had no cash I mean we're talking about a DOLLAR... A long time customer whos spending thousands and thousands of dollars and the lady couldn't do a one time favor and I would've came back for the $1.00 I didn't mind. Superb! The service was very helpful and the chocolates are amazing. A large delicious variety....we went for it an bought a large box that we custom filled. They will also let you buy by the piece. This is a family owned jewel of yester year that shouldn't be missed. If you are a chocolate lover everything we tried was delicious. We probably chose about 15 different types. If you love nuts and dark chocolate. The sharred almond covered chocolate clusters are amazing!! The classic French truffle (they have many different flavors) is stellar. The chocolate covered dried fruit is also wonderful. They had fig which is unusual and delicious! What can I say. If you are craving chocolate. Decided to check this place out on a whim and was surprised at how beautiful it is on the inside. They have an incredible amount of chocolate to pick from and make your own box of chocolates. It is really easy to spend a whole lot of money in this place if your into candy. If you have ever gotten a generic box of chocolates from the grocery store for someone, you might have noticed that half of the box goes to the trash because they put so much BS in the box. Not everyone wants chocolate covered nugget, molasses chew, and coconut with their chocolate. The benefit to this place is that you can make a whole box of chocolate with just your favorite (or your loved ones favorite) candy. No more raspberry nugget chew, just a whole box of chocolate covered caramel...
