My 19 year old daughter bought a Garmin watch last Monday at Scheels in Fargo. A worker in the Garmin watch department was absolutely excellent in his knowledge about the watch and the differences in the watches. He let her try them on which really helped her decide. She purchased the watch. Yesterday, she wore her watch to the concert at the fair and someone fainted in front of her causing her watch glass to get scratches. I called the Customer Service Department at the Scheels Fargo store to see if they had any suggestions on what to do or who to contact to repair it. I spoke to Neaveah and she took my information and put me on hold to talk to the manager in the Garmin watch department. I didn’t wait more than 2 minutes before she told me Austin, a manager, told her to have my daughter bring the watch and charger and debit card used for the watch purchase today and they would replace it. I couldn’t believe it! My daughter did as she was told and she said it didn’t take her more than 5 minutes and it was done. Everyone was extremely kind, understanding, and prompt to fix the situation. Neaveah gave me step by step instructions on what to do, what to bring, and who to ask for once my daughter arrived. Austin was quick and efficient to help my daughter once she arrived to the store. She didn’t have to tell her story over and over to different staff hoping to eventually speak to someone who could help her. The staff was amazing from start to finish! My daughter and I are unbelievably grateful for this outcome and how helpful the staff was at our local Scheels store! I shop at Scheels all the time and have NEVER had a bad experience or a rude staff member! My daughter does not have a credit card yet but now wants Scheels to be her first credit card as an adult! It made an impact on her and she truly understand the importance of customer service and that it actually matters where you purchase items. Great job Scheels Fargo for your excellent and exceptional...
Read moreBought a pair of boots that came defective. The boots are being discontinued as well. Originally was offered two great options of care for this matter. Then they said "actually we cant do that". Then they said "all we can do is a straight exchange" and I was still o with this. But the problem is im leaving for a trip and needed them before the week was out they said they'd ship the replacements next day. Then went back on that too and said they wont shop them until they get the return. My issue is not them following policy. My issue is them going back and forward on multiple things. Then Jackie, the CS agent I finally had to deal with did not care for any of it and said basically ill have to wait for her to verify anything that was done and said before she does anything about it. Again. I understand due proccess. Its the fact ive had to talk to 3 or 4 different agents to get a straight answer and all of them give me different answers or have no care attitudes. Completely useless CS and the back and forward is aggravating. I know im one measly customer but I am one customer none the less that will not ever be ordering from or shopping at a scheels again thanks to Jackie and other CS agents.
Edit: The lady who contacted me was very kind afyer my original review was posted. But none of the problems were resolved and basically got "sorry for the misunderstanding". Nothing was actually responded to and the problems of original promises being failed to be met were not addressed. I mean I dont really know why you guys bothered to even reach out if nothing extra was going to be done and said except for the usual "we are sorry you had this experience. We educated our team. Hope you come back". Like no guys. Probably wont come back especially after a half assed apology. So plus one star for the attempt but its all just very lazy and text book respnses. Riley was a stud for being the only one able to give me a...
Read moreWas racially profiled. Plain and simple, if you are not a person of color you just don’t get it. Tried to buy a gun for self defense, a guy was spotted in our backyard so we were anxious to get one soon. Went to scheels with a friend who was well educated about guns, looked for a bit until we found one. Everything was fine until i mentioned i stayed with my girlfriend who lives in fargo a few days a week, i was honestly trying to be transparent because i was curious to how that transition between the two states laws are. I am legally tied to my own house that i own in Minnesota, which i brought several utility bills and documents to prove that was where i was living. Instead they instantly took it as I was lying about where i was living, assumed i was buying the gun for my friend (where i saw same issue happened in another review) , and then said since i was staying in Fargo (which i was, but am not legally tied to whatsoever outside of staying with my girlfriend, which I stay 2-3 days out of the week) that i needed to change my license to north dakota to buy this gun, and i completely complied and said that is fine , ill just get one in Minnesota since it matches my license (and avoids the headache) , instead of letting me do this they overhead my friend and i mention a store we could look and called them (and who knows who else) to let them know to not sell to me. Honestly was a misunderstanding that they took an extra step further for no apparent reason. I offered to show them my regular utility bill from the address i legally live at in Minnesota, and they just didn’t care and instead got even more rude and defensive , seemed their mind was set. Just a very unsettling and unnecessary experience and i advise if you are a person of color be prepared with proof for anything they might...
