On my trip to try every restaurant in downtown fargo, I stumbled onto this beauty not that long ago. Seeing that this was an extension to Old Broadway, i decided to give it a try after a long day after school. Here is a list of my notes:
Fries Ive never seen done this way before. Salt combo is done to perfection. Chicken sandwhich is alright, not as crisy as I hoped due to very little breading. Sauce was alright. House Lemonade was not sweet at all and tasted like it was extremely bitter. Decor was immaculate and really gave me an old restraunt feel mixed with modern. Service was passable. It was the line of just right. Though it did take forever to get my check with a restaurant full of no people. Cheesecake feels store bought and not in the good way. Crumbles easliy and not that great at all.
All together, Old Broadway Food And Beverage Co. is a passable restaurant, but out of all the places i went thats in downtown fargo, its quite unremarkable besides its location and interior design. Where they have sandwiches they are beat by other places. Where they have fries i would say they are the best. And when they have desserts they are most likely are not the greatest in fargo. I have to give this place a 3 star rating due to this and I would only recommend this place if your tired of every other place in...
Read moreSorry OB, despite a cool period-style interior, you disappointed tonight.
We were seated for barely a minute when our server asked if we ready to order.... our food.
We ordered drinks... and they arrived in very dirty glasses.
Food choices are varied. Similar menu to Applebee’s.
Food was bland for the most part. And we only learned that after waiting five minutes for silverware. The server was unapologetic and even appeared annoyed that I asked.
The Cajun chicken pasta was pretty good. Zesty and flavorful. Chorizo had a nice snap.
Fettuccine “Alfredo” was pasty and low quality.... with shredded cheddar??!!!.
“Grilled” chicken tasted like the dirty grill it was cooked on.
For dessert we attempted the bread pudding. Although flavorful, its appearance was unappetizing; the off white “cream” liquid made us reluctant to dig in.
Hopefully an off day. However, with so many choices in the area, we will likely...
Read moreOur group of 12 planned to eat supper downtown Fargo then attend the 7:30pm Blenders concert a few blocks away. We tried getting reservations at several other nearby restaurants but kept striking out. We felt lucky that the OB was able to accommodate us yet I was a bit leery of what the experience would be like; I hadn’t been to the OB in years and read some very mixed reviews. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! Great waitress, service, apps, meals, drinks, prices! And relatively quiet, which is nice for conversations. The manager checked in with us twice and recommended some favorite dishes. Lastly, we appreciated that the waitress made sure to get our bill to us promptly since she knew we had to get to the concert. I will definitely check out the OB again when I’m looking for a good place to...
