Mitten & Boot Cafe & Fine Food — Restaurant in Farmington Hills

Mitten and Boot is a must-try experience if you're near the Farmington or West Bloomfield areas. Mike and his Mama are both very warm and welcoming, and serve up wonderful food. I've had the burger, the cheesesteak, the plants 'n' stuff sandwich, the chicken parm, a couple of the salads and several of the soups, and absolutely everything is made with the same level of care and attention to detail. Mike brings his experience in fine dining into his preparation of every dish here - I'm always eager to try new things on the menu just to see what his take is, and the choices he's made with each dish. The french fries, which are available with most meals, are delicious and perfectly prepared. Prices are very reasonable, and above all the casual and inviting atmosphere make this cafe a joy to come back to every time I'm here. They also have plenty of great food and soups available in the take-out fridge/freezer, which offers a wonderful alternative to buying similar products at a large chain grocery store. Mitten and Boot is one of my very favorite places in the Farmington Hills/West Bloomfield area. It's absolutely worth a trip whether you're coming from next door or across the city....

Mitten and Boot Cafe is absolutely amazing!!! If you are like me and looking for great Italian food but would like to avoid the craziness of other large commercial restaurants then stop going to those places and come here. Mitten and Boot is a welcome addition to Farmington Hills.

Every time I've have stopped in, I'm pleased to see Chef Mike and his mother working hard to make great food. They are very friendly and make some of the most authentic home cooking I've ever gotten from a restaurant. I strongly recommend the Chicken alla boot as well as the Alexander Sammie. Just do yourself a favor and get the meal deal and top it off with the Canolis. I'm looking forward to trying the potato pizza on my next visit.

The only thing that I would say could be improved on is having a little more space to dine in. There are some tables and chairs but it would be nice to really be able to sit down and enjoy the meal in a full restaurant setting while fresh from the kitchen. Regardless of that, I will gladly continue to return for some of the best takeout meals I could ever get.

Right before Thanksgiving, my daughter and I made a road trip to Michigan. We came across Mitten and Boot Cafe and Fine Food and decided to have lunch there. What a wonderful find! I have serious food allergies and my daughter is a vegetarian, so it is a challenge to find a place that can accommodate our dietary needs. The Chef came up with a dish that I could eat. He took the time and checked all of the ingredients for allergies. He made a salad with grilled chicken, lettuce, apples, cranberries and cheese. It was delicious. My daughter is still raving about the vegetarian sandwich that the Chef created. The food was in such generous portions that we ate the left overs for dinner that night. We also enjoyed talking with the Chef and meeting his mother. The Chef was very kind and friendly and gave us great advice of places that we might want to visit in Michigan. If we lived closer, we would be regulars at Mitten and Boot Cafe. If we go back to Michigan, you can be sure that we will be going back to enjoy the delicious food and friendly atmosphere at Mitten...
