Today I went to this Hope Depot for the first time and had one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a store. A little backstory first, I purchased some paint from the Madison Heights Home Depot and ended up getting the wrong finish. I didnāt realize this however until I had painted one wall of my bedroom and it dried flat when I wanted a satin finish. So I went to the Madison Heights store to see if I could return and they said that a return wasnāt possible, however I could exchange it for the same type of paint.
I told them I no longer liked the purple after seeing the finish and they said that I could exchange it for a different color but I had to get the different color first and then they could do the swap. I wasnāt sure which color I wanted, so I got some samples and tried them at home. I decided that I was going to go this particular Home Depot Because itās closer to home and that it probably wouldnāt matter because they have the paint exchange policy on their website. I got the paint I wanted in the satin finish and went to the customer service to make my swap.
Unfortunately thatās where it goes down hill. I get a lady who I explain my situation to at customer service, who proceeds to raise her voice with me and say āwhat do you want me to do?ā I ask her to not raise her voice at me and she said she meant no harm and that she canāt think too well because sheās on NyQuil... sure... so I explain to her again my issue and show her the Home Depot paint return policy and she calls the manager, which I was happy to speak with because I just wanted this solved.
Well the manager Latisha I think her name was barely looked in my direction and said she had never heard of that policy, which I once again brought up on their website on my phone. She gives me a very rude look and says I need to go to the paint section and they will have to decide if I can do the swap (mind you none of this was done at the Madison Heights store when I had first gone, just that I needed to pick my color). I end up talking to another person in paint who says she has never heard of that paint policy in the 12ish years she had been there and that I would need to talk to the manager of paint.
So I told my story again to the paint manager and he said the only reason Madison Heights was going to exchange the paint was because they had made the mistake. Iām annoyed but I just want this done so I ask If I need to go to Madison Heights one then and he said no. He said they would honor it but that they would be losing money. So in the end they did honor their policy, but first I had to be yelled at, then given rude looks and treated like Iām not their, and finally told that I just cost them more money... so overall I do not ever recommend this particular Home Depot and I will not be going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I moved a few miles away from this store and we needed a new front door so we went in. We sat down with a lady who says she was a manager but she was more interested in talking to fellow employees as they walked by then listening to us. About 45 minutes (or longer) later we ordered our $3,700 door and was told "we will contact you when in so you can come look at it, make sure it's not damaged and we will schedule the install". We did receive an email sometime in Dec. saying our door would be shipping Jan. 17th and that was the only contact we received. We tried calling a couple of times but nobody in that dept ever answered the phone and you can't leave a message. So we decided maybe going up there was our best option...nope! We went there on two separate occasions and neither time was anyone sitting, standing or anything else in that dept. After that I knew my only course of action was to dispute the charge on my credit card because I no longer wish to have anything to do with this store and low and behold within a half hour someone from there called me. Here's the good part, I called back and of course he didn't answer his phone and I couldn't leave a message. I will never go to this branch again and might stay away from Home Depot all together after this experience. Not sure why I'm writing this because I've read a bunch of reviews on here and obviously nobody there cares. Very poor...

I walked into the lumber department looking for help. I knew I wanted to get a sheet of wood cut to size with the intention of using it as a temporary table leaf. Marc approached me asking if he could help me. I explained that I was looking for a 42" by 26" by 1" sheet of wood to use as a leaf and was planning to throw a table clothe over it all so I didn't care what kind of wood I got.
He thought about it and let me know that they probably didn't have a inch thick sheet. He checked with another employee to confirm, and let me know my best chance was probably a half inch sheet doubled up. We looked at some other potential options like a sheet of counter top, but quickly realized that the doubled up half inch sheet was my best and most economical choice.
While we ran around looking at options, I explained to him that I needed something for dinner that night. He suggested that I use screws instead of wood glue to hold the sheets together as a result. (No glue smell to worry about.)
I couldn't be happier with how thorough and thoughtful he was in helping me out. I'll be back next time. Now if I could find my receipt and do the official...
