Changed my rating because the checkout has improved and Aldi continues to have great shopping items. 041519js
Return was a disappointment due to unprofessional process in a checkout line that was disrespectful and worst experience by a cashier. I had to wait almost a week to cool off before writing a review update. Cashier needs to reevaluate her interaction.
Still an issue with throwing groceries...but the store has such great deals! UGGGH!
I quoted earlier the distraction and since then I have every time (4x) asked for the cashiers, please do not toss my groceries so my fruits, salmon or breads are not damaged.
I try to go with someone, so I can be prepared to assist in placing my groceries into a box or bag. My husband has it figured out the long 2 boxes ready to be placed in waiting buggy, it also helps in bagging.
Come on Aldi's the young gentleman was excellent and some visits are better than others. Once the throwing stops I just may double my spending. 021819js
"Its a distraction that I have tried! to prepare myself for, when I shop @ Aldi's."
Please change the check out process!
Do Not Throw or Toss My Great Buys In the cart!
I will use my own bags or a box for packing my items. Environmentally conscious concept!
I will change to a 4 star if they would have their cashiers place my groceries in the cart. They can set it up like a warehouse its ok with me.
However, the cashiers, toss, fling and throw the items in another cart while ringing them up!
Its a distraction that I have tried! to prepare myself for, when I shop @ Aldi's.
I will bag myself. I did get prepared yesterday and asked the cashier to hand me my groceries, as raced in front of my cart and I opened my bags to pack my own groceries to prevent them from being tossed in the cart. The cashier was a little put off by my attempt but she may have been worried about policies.
Believe me, I do not have a problem of moving my cart to the packing area to speed up time for the next person but damage happens!
I will pay for the fee to use the cart. Love the concept! I wish all stores did this!
Do Not Throw My Great Buys In the cart!
I like this store, almost everything about shopping here makes me happy! Excited to see them in my community!
Here are a few pictures of the salmon (under $18 vacuum packed) and veggies I purchased for dinner last night was delicious and great values.
I love the specialty and gourmet items. Its a treasure and very reasonable. The brands are not familiar however I have purchased them and have been very satisfied.
Breads and brioche are wonderful fresh and high end.
Great to see the .25 cent cart fee it keeps the lot clear and prevents chaos in the parking area. You recover your quarter after you return the cart or leave it for someone else to use or recover. A great incentive to pocket some change. I now keep a quarter in my car for my trips specialty for Aldi's. Cart!
You are tossing my time and energy of picking up my groceries to get damaged at the end.
BTW: while standing in line a customer who stacked there cart had a bottle of olive oil break after his son moved something in his cart it spilled all over their cart damaging some groceries and spilling all over the floor, he had tossed his groceries into his cart the same way the cashier toss our groceries. Double Jeopardy!
My time is Valued too! I want to support local business I will come back if their policy of check out changes. Otherwise I will shop for only as needed.
Hello Aldi's! Lets do business! What policies are you fixing to rectify?
Update: Cashier/Employee was Amazing I added a star from 2 to 3, after returning for more Salmon. A young man checked out my cart. With help the gentleman was kind and placed my groceries in a respectful manner. I thanked him for doing so and his response was appreciated, built with respect for me and my...
Read moreALDI on Orchard Lake is my new favorite, first stop for my extended family grocery needs, and here are a few reasons why. 1). Low, low, low prices on high quality food, home products, and wines. For example, I had been paying anywhere from $1. 99 to $2. 99 for fresh cilantro. Fresh cilantro is .69 cents at ALDI. I had been paying $3 for Keebler (blue bag) chocolate chip cookies. The “blue bag” of chocolate chip cookies is $1. 39 at ALDI. I had been paying nearly $5 for the red carton of “organic” milk. The “red carton” of “organic” milk is $2. 89 at ALDI. I had been hooked on Josh Cellar’s superb Sauvignon Blanc wine which was bargain priced at $12. I tried FLIRTY BIRD brand BLANC at ALDI. I can buy 3 bottles for the price of one. SAME GRAPES. Imagine a WHOLE store full of wonderful surprises like these few examples.

Read moreI visited this Aldi on 11/15 and was rang up by Tamiracle. She has a bad disposition , is rude and apparently lacks any customer service knowledge. I unloaded my groceries like I’ve done several times at various Aldi locations and she proceeds to put all my things over on the side of the cash register. She says “Um, you can’t unload your stuff. You have to do one at a time. The belt will just keep rolling that’s why I put everything to the side.” I asked had this been a new policy. I was sure this new rule was self created by her. When the customer in front of me was done I asked her again when did this new rule come about and explained to her that’s what belt dividers were for . After my transaction was complete I spoke with a manager so that they can find ways to rectify the situation. If this is the customer service that I will receive when shopping The Farmington store I will no longer patronize...
