Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Farmington

First, our home is barely 5 minutes from the local Sonic, so I know the "problems" here were NOT due to a long drive between Sonic and home.

1. This store needs to return to policy of "we don't start cooking until you've finished your order." My wife's cheeseburger was warm, but not hot, and my Super Sonic cheeseburger was barely warm. Both burgers were over-cooked, and mine, particularly, was dry and "crispy" around the edges. We're in our 60s, and we've eaten a lot of cheeseburgers -- including Sonic burgers -- over the years, so we recognize pre-cooked patty and poor quality. Many times in the past, our food was still nicely hot by the time we drive the few minutes to home!
2. Tater tots were "room temperature" and some were too soft and a little soggy. There were several over-cooked, greasy french fries mixed in.
3. Onion rings were warm, but crisp -- a little greasy, but they were best part of the food.
4. Our drinks were good and were the only part of our order that actually met our expectations.

We've eaten at this Sonic many times over the last several years, and more often, picked up food to bring home, but the quality control seems to be slipping. This order was very, VERY "not acceptable" but with the winter weather and snow, neither my wife or I was willing to return to the Sonic about all this.

We're also now not sure we'll return to this Sonic anytime soon, if ever.

I worked there for over a week. The owner/manager was there maybe 3 times, she let's the kids run the store 99% of the time. Policy states no bare hands should ever be wrapping the sandwiches. They NEVER wore gloves while making sandwiches. (Burgers, chicken. Burritos) They bare handed every single order that was sent out. Owner pays minimum wage and doesn't even give the kids free food during their shift. Even after a week I still had very little idea of what I was doing. The "managers" are kids that do not interact with you. There is no training program. They do not follow Sonic, FDA nor ServSafe food handling procedures. How they haven't killed anyone yet is a mystery to me. Check your insurance and head on over to Sonic, where they get really personal with the food you put...

I normally don't post negative reviews but something has to be done about this place. We stopped in the get a "Route 44 Lemon Berry Slush" you know the one with lemon and strawberry what was given to us at window was a cup of slush, no flavoring at all! When my wife went in to ask them what happen they claim not to know what a "Lemon Berry Slush" was. We have been visiting this particular Sonic for nearly 20yrs and we always get at least one "Lemon Berry Slush"(usually two). So for them to not know what is on their menu is unacceptable for one AND for two Why didn't they ask us what we meant if they didn't know. If they would not have corrected the problem I would have given...
