Poor customer service. I have been Shopping with harbor freight for years and never had a bad experience now I don't care to return to the Farmington mo store. I was looking for an OBD2 reader to use with a specific app Leafspy to use with my Nissan Leaf Electric car. I had already tried 2 others. I went to the store and talked with a staff member about there Bluetooth reader they have. I explained that it was about finding one to work with this specific app. I ask if there was any problem returning it if it didn't work as I had the car outside she said would not be a problem I went outside triednto get it to connect to the app it would not. Came right back inside and went to return it. That is when I was told there was a restocking fee. I told the clerk that I had just ask if there was any problem and was not told there was a restocking fee. She pointed to my receipt and said it is printed here I ask her to clarify the conversation with the other clerk she refused I ask to speak with a supervisor she said " I am the Supervisor". I said ok I will have to call customer service as we have a problem:. I called and spoke with customer service they said they couldn't do anything about the restocking fee being returned at the store but they would issue a gift card for the amount of the restock fee $10 I did return it and have received the gift card. The other thing that occured is another staff member not at work but I recognize from many trips to the store tried to interrupt my conversation with customer service saying she was another customer and I was rude to the staff. I thanked her for her opinion and she went to the back of the store with the other clerk I have her picture and hate the fact she was lying to protect her coworker. If they were quality staff they wouldn't have to do this. I hope the owner or district manager see this and would like to have a further discussion. Actually cost me money when item flew apart because it was incomplete. I even asked if I needed something else. No. Now I am stuck with the rest of the incomplete products and had to order the right stuff off Amazon. Called store. A waste of time. I said can you check on what I told you and call me back? Nope we don't do call backs. Well if your employees don't know what they are talking about they do NOT need to ask you if you need help. $30 wasted. I was asked to describe the employee. I did.
