Sumo Grill & Sushi — Restaurant in Farmington

WORTH THE READ BEFORE YOU COME HERE! I usually don't write reviews but for my first experience at this restaurant Sumo Grill & Sushi the service was HORRIBLE! So 1st our server disappeared, appetizers took 30 min which i had to ask for several times, food came in waves after an hour so a couple of us got to eat then another plate would come THEN my daughters Udon soup got forgotten while everyone around us got their food quickly because their server stayed present..... So basically any worker walking past us we had to ask them continously for help. Which was not fun because you could tell they were annoyed. Yet not our fault the server was just gone. But the worse part was when they forced a tip onto our ticket becuz they said there was 5 of us. More awful was when I walked up to pay for our ticket, it was our server who reappeared and I confronted him about him dissappearing and how others had to take care of us and it was not a good experience and he says sorry. Nothing else and it was definitely said in annoyance as if I was complaining to get a discount or something. The least they could of done was not force a tip into our ticket. They charged us 18% AFTER taxes too! I'm most definitely Not going to come back to this restaurant ever again! .....No genuine apology or concerns from any workers here. Such a shame cause I'm a loyal customer who is usually patient and understanding but the service I experienced today at this place of business was NOT...

We called few days ahead to make a reservation for a birthday party for a big group so we made a reservation at 5pm and we got there and they said that they never got our reservation so I don’t know what’s going on but make sure you double check on your reservation because obviously they forgot ours so we got there and it was already busy and we talked to one of the manager and he was trying to get couple tables ready for us but waiting on a couple people to leave so waited about 15 minutes and we got a table and the service was great. Our waiter was great And the food was good as usual and only thing was the sushi bar was closed and it’s always closed on Sundays, so I was kind of bummed about it because I was looking forward to the Las Vegas rolls. So I end up ordering the steak and shrimp hibachi and it was pretty good. Enjoyed it and I love miso soup here.. so yes, so if you’re making a reservation for a big group, make sure you doublecheck they did because obviously...

Worst restaurant experience in all of human history. 30 minutes after ordering I had asked the waitress where our food was. She babbled some non coherent gibberish about it being frozen and then said she would go check on it. She then continued to scurry around the dinning room and not go check. And other 15 minutes minutes had passed and numerous tables who had come in after us, had finished their meals and left. I asked the waitress again. She then informed me that they were out of fish, when I could clearly see they had fish. She also rambled on about the food still being frozen. I informed her that we had to go (we had movie tickets and the show was a going to start in 20 minutes). She informed that was fine and that we wouldn’t have to pay………. As I was thinking, of course we don’t have to pay, we’ve been here nearly an hour and never received our food. I’m sure it would’ve been delicious, but for some reason the lady had decided we were destined to...
