Upon entering: there was no hello how are you, welcome in or anything. The (what seems to be by type of shirt) manager was standing in the corner closest to the door, said absolutely nothing to us. The Asian (don’t know her name) lady was very irritated to be working today. No enthusiasm with us, just bland service. The guy at the register was friendly though, I feel bad he has to work with the Debby downers though. The dining room tables were all dirty, the sweet tea was old. When our food came out, our child’s food did not come with. We were not communicated to about when her food was coming out until they brought her sides and told us 2 more minutes on the chicken nuggets. I work in food, I get it, but they should have communicated with us instead of leaving us to think they forgot about it (first thought due to their lack of talking while ordering). Food quality was good, better than the last time we came, it was hot as well. The sauces are subpar for a bbq place but at least the food tasted good. The Asian lady when coming to check the dining room, stood on her phone for the better part of her time out here, proceeded to wipe a part of the soda counter, check the tea level (didn’t check the time date obviously), and did not bother to wipe any of the disgusting tables or check with the guests on how their food was. Overall not the best experience, which is unfortunate for spending $30 on two meals (kids eat free on Sundays, so it would have been more expensive if not for that). I’d recommend retraining customer service, attentiveness of the dining area, & revising/retraining a cell phone policy as that was the employees main focus. But hey, what do I know, I’m just an operations manager for a different...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could! We came in today (3/8/23) at approximately 7pm. It was extremely slow and was hesitant to try but we decided to give it a try. EVERY single order came to us messed up. 3 of our orders were made wrong three times. I was eventually asked to write my orders down by the young lady because she told me that she didn’t write them down correctly when we placed our orders. My step dad didn’t get his order until we were almost done eating (we had to tell them that he still hasn’t received his food after 15 minutes of us finally receiving ours). Everything was cold and gave us small portions because they were low. This should have been communicated before we even placed our order. When they brought us the wrong plates, they would take the wrong plates that were placed on our table back behind the counter they prepared other food to be sold to other customers. That is completely unsanitary and a major health code violation. I spoke to the “supervisor” on staff named Eli and he said he is not allowed to do anything to help the situation per Owners order. I asked to please call the owner, Amari, so this can be resolved. The owner told him that he will have to deal with it tomorrow after I explained that we live 45 minutes away. I will never be back to this establishment nor recommend it. They should be ashamed to serve this...
Read moreOriginal Zomato Review 8/22/15 - 8/25/17 - Update - Dickey's has changed its sweet tea from brewed to Gold Peak. Can't anyone spend a few extra cents to do it right for the customer. Dropping my rating from 4.0 to 2.5.
8/22/2015 - Grabbed a quick bite at Dickey's for lunch. I usually defer to the barbecue benchmark (pulled pork plate), but decided to go for the special of the day, brisket sandwich with two sides (cole slaw and barbecue beans).
I think everything was good, brisket had a good taste and was not dry. The barbecue sauce was not overpowering. I have to give a special call out to the slaw and barbecue baked beans--my comment is "the cole slaw would be good hot dog slaw" (for those who have never had a chili slaw dog, you just don't get it). Good brewed sweet tea...and free ice cream. Pretty tasty place!
My only negative comment--I believe one of the employees was training this afternoon. The trainee was doing a great job pulling the orders together...the trainer was scratching his head and wiping sweat with food prep gloves on. Come on dude, you can't do that and continue to prepare food! Someone needs...
