11/19/23-editing to add it has now been a total of 15 business days, since I started this process. I have not been contacted. I am disappointed, but I suppose it speaks to how the company feels about it's customers. I get the ads in my email a few times a week, but no correspondence when it comes to a complaint. š¤·āāļø this will be the last edit. I will revisit to update, if I am ever contacted with a solution.
11/10/23-I am editing this review to include that it has now been 5 business days since my 2nd automated response. This review is being placed after 5 business days with no contact from corporate. I voiced my concerns on the survey they print at the bottom of every receipt. I received an automated reply, stating someone would contact me in 3-5 business days. We went to dinner just before 5:00 pm. The restaurant was nowhere near half full, but there was a wait. Hostess was watching a movie or show, on her phone, at the hostess station. So we wait (table of 3) no big deal. We get seated, and when the server came over, she took our appetizer order and drink order. After we had waited a while, she let us know our appetizers were almost done. Brought our drinks, and took our dinner order. When she came to the table again, she had our dinner salads, no appetizers yet, no silverware either. My salad had rotted lettuce in it. Not just brown spots-brown and slimy. Fiance's salad had a full lettuce core in it. (Everything else was good, so he just removed it). I called her attention to my salad when She finally brought forks and napkins. ( She told us that she would bring us knives when she could because day shift did not prep for night shift.) As for the salad, she took it back and stared at it. Said she would take it off the bill. She never even offered another salad. Apps were brought to the table by someone else. The beer cheese with our pretzels was replaced by Alfredo, with no warning of such a change. The cheese sticks were run of the mill. FiancƩ got his steak, looked great, but he still didn't have a knife. (When he finally did get a knife, it was cooked as requested, but dinner was just unenjoyable at this point) Son's hamburger bun was burned on the inside. He couldn't eat the bun at all. The ham on my club sandwich was burned around the edges and very tough. Pulled it all off, as well as a tomato slice that was definitely not fresh. All in all, we paid $113 for 3 drinks (we were never asked if we wanted another drink), and some great French fries and pretzels. Highly disappointed, we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've eaten at plenty of Applebee's and at this one once before; This is in no way meant to be critical. Just feedback for management and the young lady who took care of us. I won't mention her name to avoid embarrassing her but I felt feedback was in order.
Pros: The food was excellent. It looked as good as advertised and tasted great, prepared well. We ordered the 2 for 25 deal: Chicken parmesan and 2 salads. I ordered beer to accompany my meal.
Cons: As we were seated, the waitress asked if we wanted to order anything to drink. I ordered a Bud Light. I looked over at the tap before I ordered. Normally, I'm asked if I would like draft (my preference) or bottle. I wasn't asked and was brought a bottle. On the upside, it was really cold. But it would have been nice to be offered the option. It took a while to get our salads, probably ten minutes. I caught our server to ask that they be brought out before our meal and she said they were on the way. They came along with my MIL's meal, but I had to ask for silverware. She went to get us some silverware and brought our entree at the same time along with the silverware. We didn't have time to enjoy the salad before our entree arrived. In addition, she only brought forks. The chicken needed cut a little but we had no knives. There is a theme here. From there, everything was fine. She did check back once or twice.
At the risk of sounding pretentious, there are certain expectations when dining out. This restaurant chain has been around for a long time; attention to the little details needs addressed. I can get pretty much any kind of dish at a number of restaurants so it is always service that keeps me coming back. I noticed there were very few guests when were there. It was Wednesday evening at dinner time and the place was less than a quarter full. Odd for this time of day and week. I hope that isn't an omen that things aren't looking good for Applebee's in Fayetteville. To the manager: you'll never achieve excellence until you master the basics. It appears somebody has lost sight of the basics. I hope to return; Applebee's has always...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGotta be honest. I am disappointed. I placed an order through Postmates for pickup, not delivery. And my daughter placed an order for pickup through the Applebee's website to use a gift card. Both orders were the same: Cheeseburger Meal for 4. Between our two orders we were spending about $60.
We arrived to pick up our orders at the specified time. Even though my app said my order was ready, they were not. My wife and daughter waited inside for 30 more minutes before the order was ready. I told my wife to ask if they would comp us drinks (soda) because we had to wait. The server asked her manager and came back with "no" for an answer.
When my wife and daughter got in the vehicle with our orders and told me Applebee's didn't provide us drinks to compensate for the wait, I called the manager immediately. Initially the manager was firm on not providing the drinks. She said she could have given to my wife and daughter while they waited, but not 8 to match the number of meals we purchased. I explained the drinks would only cost Applebee's a couple bucks, and that we waited for over 30 minutes.
She didn't change her mind until I said I would call the owner. I also explained I am a Google Reviewer and my photos have over 8 million views. She then backtracked and told me they usually DO provide drinks when people wait but she was not given the info that we had been waiting 30 minutes. I told her we were still in the parking lot... so she did bring us drinks... To make it easy, I asked for them to be all Dr. Pepper.
The burger was decent, I did enjoy it...the brioche bun with the seasoned burger is pretty good. But we were supposed to get an 2 orders of onion rings and 2 orders of fries. Instead we were given 3 orders of fries and 1 order of onion rings. And the Dr. Pepper was very watered down.
I give the manager credit for coming around and understanding our frustration and providing a comp card to make up for the misunderstanding with the drinks. So we will give Applebee's another shot. But it should not be so hard to be a...
