TLDR:: Poke Cafe served me gluten after I told them repeatedly I’m allergic after being allergen friendly in the past.
My daughter and I went for Sunday Lunch to Poke Cafe to grab a quick bite while running errands. Previously I’ve left reviews and referred them because their food has been good and fresh and they’ve been VERY allergen friendly since I have a fairly severe gluten and dairy intolerance.
Today, I did my typical ordering informing the cashier of the intolerance and making sure the dish could be ordered as is on the menu or if I needed to make any changes. He said no changes made, put the order in.
Food was delivered. I again confirmed, gluten and dairy free. Was assured, yup, by a different employee that dropped it off.
Then when I asked for an extra side of gluten free soy sauce (these aren’t usually kept on the table at any restaurant), the manager said they didn’t have any GF Soy Sauce. 😰🚩🚩🚩🚩 they haven’t had any the entire month she’s been managing the restaurant.
I now needed to get the heck out of dodge because in a few minutes I had eaten 1/4 of this bowl and I’m highly reactive to gluten. I still had to ask for a refund since I’m clearly not eating this. They only refunded my meal even though we left with my daughter eating less than half of hers to get home.

Read moreI'm sorry to do this because I hate leaving bad reviews but PLEASE DON'T EAT HERE. I got food poisoning on 2/7/2025 I don't know if it was the shrimp or chicken but 20 minutes after eating here I started feeling bloated and crampy. Didn't think too much at first but an hour after that the cramps got intense and just a short time later I got sick (from both ends). Was sick that night into the next evening with cramps and bloating that didn't stop. Even though I ate a handful of other foods here and there to sooth my stomach, EVERY burp, belch, and puke tasted like my meal at Poke Cafe. I know something MUST have been stored/prepared improperly (unfortunately everything was in a sauce so I didn't notice a problem while eating). Made for a miserable few days (and we bought 2 bowls but luckily my daughter immediately said hers didn't taste right amd stopped eating - stupidly I didn't notice/believe her). Out $35 and missed a day of work. Location management/owner: PLEASE review your storage/prep practices to avoid this happening to someone else. I really wanted to love this place but definitely...
Read morehe new Poke Cafe on Skibo Rd is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a great atmosphere—modern, clean, and inviting. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and ready to enjoy a good meal.
Speaking of the food, it’s nothing short of amazing. The poke bowls are not only fresh and flavorful but also come in very large portions, ensuring you leave fully satisfied. Their sushi is incredibly fresh, and you can taste the quality in every bite. If you’re in the mood for hibachi, you’re in for a treat—the portions are generous enough for two people to share, making it a fantastic value.
I also have to recommend the teas—they’re the perfect complement to the meal. The variety and quality of the teas are impressive, and they add an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.
If you haven’t checked out Poke Cafe yet, do yourself a favor and give it a try. It’s quickly become one of my favorite spots in Fayetteville, and I’m sure it’ll be the same for you. Highly...
