I normally don’t write reviews, but today I felt like we really needed too! Today we go into IHOP on Skibo road here in Fayetteville. When you walk in it’s cool seeing all the Halloween decorations. while the wait wasn’t very long and we got sat down right away by a gentleman who was also our server. He introduced himself and then asked what we would like to drink. My husband asked if there was any diet options and/or non sugary options because I have diabetes, and the server said yes we have Diet Pepsi. So I said he will try a Diet Pepsi and I’ll have a sweet tea. The server proceeds to the back and says very loudly in a mocking tone that they wanted a non sugary drink and he asked for a Diet Pepsi and began laughing about it with his coworkers. My husband and I also ordered the same thing A Sausage breakfast bowl with sunny side up eggs and hash brown but my husband asked for avocado and I didn’t. When we got the food he got bacon instead of sausage, but at this point we over heard him talking bad about other customers in the restaurant, and we chose that we weren’t leaving a tip due to his attitude towards customers. My husband also wasn’t a fan of the Diet Pepsi, and asked for a strawberry lemonade instead; it took like 10 mins to get the lemonade, but the server proceeded to play on his phone and laugh with his coworkers in the back. The server also never serviced the table and then wanted to kinda force us out by asking to take up our plates; when he never gave us not one refill or asked how the food was. We didn’t tip and the total was $40.99; definitely not worth the money for this horrible service. It was also funny the server could repeat his whole big table of 9+ people’s order but messed up an order that was almost completely the same. We will not be coming back to this establishment, and I’m really upset because I love coming into this location to see all the decorations. Other than that food was great wish I could of tipped the cooks for their service and for decorating the restaurant. I always try and tip over $10 but today was the first time...
Read moreI'm not one to leave bad reviews but my experience moved me to today. I went to this location with my wife and 2 children, 6 and 10. We saw an advertisement that kids eat free from 4-10 PM. We ordered our food with the server who was nice but inattentive. He was busy cleaning up the floor and talking with his co-workers including who I found out later was the manager. Fast forward to getting the food. It was not the best I've had but it wasn't inedible so I didn't complain. My wife's meal was incorrect but again we didn't complain. We weren't checked on the entire time and the server brought our check. I looked at the check and both my children were charged for full entrees instead of kid meals. I'm thinking "okay there was a mistake and it'll get fixed." Boy was I wrong. Apparently they weren't participating in the kids eat free promotion and because I didn't realize that my children weren't given kids meals I was expected to pay for the food that was brought and not what I ordered. When I asked to speak with a manager I found out that the one of the guys that was joking around with my server was, according to him, the GM of the store. Instead of just admitted that the server made a mistake and making it right by adjusting the bill he threatened to call the cops if I didn't pay the full amount. I had already conceded to paying for the kids food since they weren't participating in the promotion even though I would have just gone elsewhere if I'd known that but I wasn't going to pay for something I didn't order. At this point it was the principle of the situation more than the money. This became a heated argument with a patron over $6. He eventually conceded and put the discount I'd asked for on the bill but I will never go here again. I can tell that nobody that matters at this restaurant looks at these reviews but if this is how your managers are trained you should take a look at literally any other restaurant, including fast food, and learn how managers...
Read moreJust left ...I had a business lunch date and our server was the worst yet very mannerable with a snap. Ok my guest ordered strawberry banana pancakes bacon grits and oj; I ordered the vegan omelet hash browns water with lemon. It took thirty minutes for the first plate to hit the table and it was wrong. So after changing plates with my guest three times...I sat await for eating utensils and lemon which still took five to ten minutes. Never got my lemon! I work in customer service so I understand both sides but this guy had our counter table laughing and shaking their hands at how we were being served. Nevertheless I stayed cool as well as my guest. Check time... He did not ask if we needed one or two checks which I needed one but he brought two and i did not fuss i moved to the higher road had put my card between both checks ....will Mr. Forgetful has nerve to say ( interrupted my conversation) don't forget to sign both checks( before I signed the first one or gave a tip). Well I looked at him like I would one of my kids and says very stern dont get smart with me. Oh I was wasn't he says but I had no other way to take it because that was the only thing he had said or done that was smart or made sense since we got our table. Customer service is about treating a person as if they are a guest in your home. Making them feel comfortable relaxed so they may stay longer spend more maybe not that day but it will encourage them to be repeated customers and often. Cheap labor is not always the best labor and You get what you pay for. i rather have quality over quantity anyday. I believe in tipping two ways sometime the service is only worth one kind of tip...
