Don't waste your time, drive to the Chuy's in Rogers. I love Chuy's and have been to three other locations in Arkansas, but my experience at the Fayetteville was the worst. First of all, the hostesses at the front were all unfriendly and looked miserable, like they hated being there. I also overheard them talking negatively about a patron they had just seated. This is not the experience I've had at the Rogers or other locations.
We had put our names on the waitlist online, which said the wait was 15-20 minutes. No big deal, we knew there would be a wait. However, it was about 30 minutes before we were seated, despite there being a few clean tables available and multiple empty tables that still needed to be bussed. There appeared to be only one busser, and he was moving slowly. This is also not what we've seen at other locations. Usually as soon as a party leaves the busser is immediately clearing the table.
Once we were seated, our order was taken promptly. However, our food took another 25 minutes to be delivered to the table, by someone other than our waitress. You'd think, since it took so long for our order to arrive, the food would be hot and fresh...and you'd be wrong. I ordered the fajita chicken soft tacos (as I do most times when I visit a Chuy's) and they didn't look fresh at all. I touched the chicken and most of it felt room temp, with only a couple pieces being only lukewarm. I tried a bite anyway and it was also tough, like cold chicken often is. The server came by and asked how everything was and I told her about the cold chicken. She apologized and offered to have it remade. I declined, having lost my appetite. The manager came by later and asked if I like her to have it remade. I politely declined and she stared at me like I was crazy. After a long awkward silence, she walked off. Weird. She did take it off my bill, which was nice of her.
The ONLY bright spot was our server. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name, but she was fantastic. Above average service, which is hard to find now days.
Bottom line, I'll drive to Rogers next time I'm...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at the Chuy's location in Fayetteville that I have never had at the Rogers location. I highly recommend that you take the short drive to that location instead of visiting this one.
We signed in before we arrived in an attempt to get in quicker. They informed us it would be 15-20 minutes. My party of three waited 25-30 minutes for a table. As we waited, I counted several tables that became free that were not cleaned off in a timely manner. They had one bus boy who didn't seem to be in any hurry. The hostesses were not friendly and were overheard talking negative about a customer that they had just seated.
When we were finally seated and the waitress took our order (who was the only good thing about our experience), we waited another 25 minutes for our meal. If you have ever been to the Chuy's in Rogers, you know that you get your food pretty soon after you order it. My husband ordered chicken tacos. Immediately we could tell they were cold. The beans and rice on our plate appeared to have been on the plate for sometime. The plates were dirty like they had not been washed. I also noticed other customers plates looked dirty too.
The manager came over and offered to get my husband something else. After he politely declined, she proceeded to stand there and stare at him. It was very awkward. She finally walked away. They did take it off our ticket, however.
I had high hopes for this location, since it was so close and my family loves Chuy's. However, we will not be back at this location. We will continue to visit the Rogers location where they get you in the door in a timely manner and the food is always hot and the...
Read moreHave eaten here many times. If you haven’t experienced the Elvis Presley combo (pictured) come get some!
This is a fun tex-mex establishment, 5 stars rated relative to family Mexican restaurants and Tex mex restaurants both. Employees genuinely seem to enjoy working here and take pride in their work! A rare gem in 2025, especially locally. This is praise, not criticism, as a world traveler.
Bang for the buck, quality of presentation and preparation, and environment all have a happy grandbaby here. Most local Mexican food family restaurants seem to emphasize loud music and ripping off customers, as if customers are too stupid to notice filler in drinks, or low quality ingredients in meals. Not Chuy’s, they seem to take pride in their products and work ethic, both.
I wish more local restaurants took as much pride in their fare and culture. Workers enjoy it here. Customers therefore also enjoy their visits. I have brought family on two occasions, even one visiting from California also with high expectations of family Mexican food restaurants, and it gets the 360 degree family seal of approval, as a local and traveller alike.
Keep up the value, quality, and taking care of your employees… and customers like me will continue to keep your doors open as a regular.
In case I seem over-hyped, let us recognize the rating of 5 stars is relative to TexMex and local family Mexican, it is not relative to fine dining etc. In some ways the food is bland compared to fancy meals, but that is the food category of family Mexican and Tex mex both. Relative to local expectations this is a gem. Enjoy as such!
Cheers! And thank you. Keep up...
