Updated Review (3 stars) Stopped by to pick up an item since I was in the area and within 2 minutes I was asked by an associate if I needed assistance. Asked about a product and he directed me to another associate down the aisle who was stocking the product on the shelves. After a brief conversation I was able to narrow down my choices and check out. I was really impressed, especially after a few bad previous experiences. I'm willing to go from my previous 1 star review to 3 stars after this latest visit.
Old Review (1 Star) I don’t usually write reviews, but my recent experiences with this store and its employees have been so bad that I feel compelled to write.
First visit I needed paint to match a color swatch. Went to the paint desk where no one was working and waited patiently to be noticed. Spent the next 15 minutes watching employees talk with each other. A couple of employees walked past and one of the guys said “and I said, maybe you should go to Lowe’s” and they laughed. They proceeded to go flirt with the girl supervising the self checkout area which was otherwise empty. I stood there for another 5 minutes or so and then left and went to Lowe’s.
Went back again recently to find some pile weatherstripping and looked around on my own for about ten minutes. Not finding it, I went to the window desk to ask them if they carried it. Stood there a while before an employee walked past and asked if I’d been helped. I said no and he got on his walkie talkie and said a customer needs assistance at the window desk. Perfect. Then I waited, and waited, and waited. Put my phone stopwatch on and left after 15 minutes was up.
I understand the issues that big box stores face but the contrast between my experiences at Home Depot and then at Lowe’s has been remarkable. I’m not trying to tell anyone where to shop, just to share my recent experience with this Home Depot store.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I’ve learned my lesson and I’ll...
Read moreLive in the area and come here only when EVERY other hardware store doesn’t have what I need. The staff is incredibly avoidant with seemingly never any in a given department but instead all of them in clumps either at the front of the store or the back. When after you’ve wandered around lost for 20 minutes trying to navigate by the signage in the store, which is only vaguely accurate if at all, you finally wander all the way back to the front to get some help your likely informed they don’t know or that it’s not their department or at best given a aisle number. No sales rep has ever walked me to the object i was after or offered any advice or information on the products I was looking for. This is all of course if you go there during their busy hours, off hours it’s a ghost town with maybe 3 employees in the whole store. Store is typically dirty and now with COVID running rampant in the area you would think they would try harder but you’d be wrong it appears that they can’t even be bother to follow the city ordinance on face masks and monitor the doors to make sure customers entering at least have them if not actively wear them since about half the customers in there weren’t wearing any and none of the milling useless employees could be bothered to even ask...
Read moreI had a short piece of #8 copper wire cut for a project. The associate doing the cutting wrote down the SKU, footage, and price per foot on a wire cutting ticket. It was only a few dollars. When I went to check out, the SKU wasn't in the system. They thought at first the wire cutting associate wrote down the wrong SKU, but, after waiting around for a bit, it was the same SKU as on the shelf, but actually not in the system. One associate said they couldn't sell it to me. I said, ok, what will you do with it if I cannot purchase it? Was told it was so short of a cut piece, it would likely be trashed. A manager finally came up, scanned my other items, said put in your card, pay, and take your merchandise. I thought she actually scanned the piece of wire in, because the per foot price was on the ticket from the cutter. When I got home, it wasn't on the receipt. I guess she figured I needed the wire, and they would trash it anyway. I would give five stars, but I had someone waiting for me, and this held me up considerably waiting for proper check out. I think this SKU doesn't get corrected in their system. What if the next person buys 30 feet or so? Are they going to keep them waiting while they figure it out? Better to fix...
