So so so so good. Sometimes food can transport you back in time. If you love a Vietnamese Banh Mi, run, don’t walk here. I had the Saigon. It wasn’t “dac biet” like I know it but was close enough.
We came to America from Vietnam in ‘75. We used to visit my grand parents in Galveston in the late 70’s and there was this tiny little building in the back yard of someone’s house. They served Banh Mi. I think back then, you could get a sandwich for $1.
We used to get sandwiches there every-time we came to visit. The sandwich I had today transported me back to that time.
We were all poor immigrants. The ingredients were “different”, came from Chinese markets and we modified what we could get.
This sandwich reminds me of that. The tastes, texture..simply amazing. There are 2 camps when it comes to Banh Mi, it’s either the bread or the fillings. In this case, the bread was crunchy and super flaky and soft inside.
My first bite and it was a flavor explosion.
I’ll be back...
Read moreAnother good recommendation by Hangry Pedaler. Very good "saigon" banh mi here, and the prices are great in this economy of mid-2024. I tried each of the spring rolls, and found them fresh with the peanut sauce. There was plenty of flavor and fillings in the banh mi, I wish I didn't live 30+ minutes away and it'd be practical to eat this every week. :) Was a bit of a wait, but they do make it fresh and have a sign on their truck to warn of this. Service was very friendly and trying their best during the lunch rush. The stickers were funny. Seating is nice, and there are a limited amount of tables (3) so while waiting I would walk up to another table where someone is waiting and just ask if you can sit. This even ended up to a pleasant conversation with someone while we both had our...

The banh mi is truly one of the best in NWA. But be prepared to wait about an hour or more for one. It’s worth if you haven’t had one for a while. But as a quick lunch or introducing to folks as a first time might not be a great idea unless they’re okay with waiting around.

First time here and first impression gave us mixed feelings. We would need to come back another time.
They were very friendly, and their banh mi is one of the top for NWA. Their flavor profile is on point.
But we weren’t able to get what we want, even when we arrived around 1:30ish on a Saturday. I guess we need to come earlier. Also be prepared to wait a good 10ish min for your order.
Overall we’d love to come back again because the food is really good but we probably just came at...
