I've been here a few times and, as much as I want to like this place, the food has been disappointing.
To start off positively, the servers are polite and the service is good from the few times I've been here. I will say though, it is quite small so if they are busy at all you will likely have to sit outside or at the bar.
The first time I got the yellow curry and, compared to some other Thai places, it almost felt like it was made using a curry stock cube instead of made fresh. I have no proof of this so I could absolutely be wrong, but the flavor wasn't as complex as I'm used to from Thai restaurants and it felt similar to when I have eaten broths made from stock cubes. I know some places use pre-made pastes or stock cubes as a base, but it feels like they didn't do anything to it past that.
I wanted to give them another chance so I went yesterday and tried the Thai spring rolls to start, which I enjoyed with the house peanut sauce. We also tried the cashew chicken and the beef pad Thai and this is where things went a bit downhill.
The cashew chicken had pretty good flavor, but it was almost inedibly salty. I think this was a mistake in the kitchen so I can give them a pass if this was a one off thing. The beef pad Thai, however, just didn't taste like an authentic pad Thai at all. Real pad Thai is supposed to be sour, sweet, salty, and savory together, but this tasted nothing but sweet. It's not that it tasted gross or anything, but it just tasted like gloopy, sweet noodles with some peanuts on top which is not what pad Thai is. Also, we ordered 3 out of 5 spicy on the cashew chicken and 4 out of 5 spicy on the beef pad Thai, but neither were even remotely spicy.
Overall the food isn't terrible here but I wouldn't recommend it for anybody looking for good,...
Read moreI’m from the bay area ca where Asian food is top tier so it’s been a struggle finding great Thai food here but this is just like home. Original A Taste of Thai really disappointed me but this was complete redemption, like genuinely my new favorite place. The location makes the parking super easy which is awesome for someone like me who can’t drive well. The servers were all so nice and they filled up our water so often which we were so grateful for. #needthat after ordering the level 3 spicy. I really appreciated how they did have genuine spicy food though- as someone who handles spice even I thought 3 was pretty spicy. But other Thai places I went go way too light with spice, so I respect them for that LOL. The chicken pad Thai was to die for, only like $13.35 which as a college student I appreciated. The texture of the noodles were amazing. The panang dumplings had such a good flavor, only feedback is that they should fold them tighter because they do fall apart when you stick a fork into them. Maybe better with chopsticks? But the Thai rolls were good too, peanut sauce was awesome. Not the most amazing Thai rolls in the world but good. I wish they brought a bill instead of the card reader to the table though because that was hella awkward especially since the dude was watching me tip. But overall the people working were all so nice and the atmosphere was great. By far the BEST Thai food I’ve had in Fayetteville so far and will be...
Read moreZero stars. Worst dining experience ever. After ordering it took 15 minutes to get the Thai tea I had ordered then it immediately went off the cliff: The customers that got seated ten minutes after we arrived and ordered, received their full dinner course within ten minutes. After this twenty minutes passed the server came back to inform us there was no green papaya for one of the dishes we ordered, great, that should have been immediately communicated within a couple of minutes. The appetizer of tamarind shrimp finally arrived well over thirty minutes after we first ordered with no cutlery or plates. My friend that I was with had had enough after asking for cutlery and plates from the 'garcon' that brought us the appetizer let us know from across the restaurant "we would have to wait for them to wash the dishes" to receive plates and utensils. First time in thirty years I have EVER received such abject lack of any level of service much less had to walk out and then pay for my half drank Thai tea, which the owner was there befuddled as to what was happening could not even offer a syllable of protest or question as I explained why we are leaving while her flustered and snoop dog T-shirt wearing server was frantically trying to give me change. I'm not bitter, I don't want any apologies, consider this a lesson to grow on by two people who have been in high end service in the food/restaurant business for over thirty...
