Would give 5 stars because everyone & everything has room for improvement, or so i have been told. Would give 3 stars because it has gotten more expensive to eat there, but which place hasn't?
Standard greasy, (but not overly!) burgers which are quite tasty
Skin on cut fries
Everytime ive gotten a sundae there they kind of skimp on the ice cream portion, the ice cream is sometimes great, sometimes ok, and I wanna love the coffee flavor. Excited they have coffee flavor, but it really needs more coffee flavor!
Hot fudge is a specimen in what hot fudge should feel & taste like.
My main grievance with Dick's is they are sadly neutered.
What do i mean? i know you are wandering to yourself.
Well, i ask for nuts for the sundae.
You know what the kid behind the counter said to me? He said we don't have nuts! I said whaaat?!! My wife then chimed in and looked this poor kid right in his eyeballs and says, jokingly, and probably a little too loudly asks this kid, "How can you be called Dick's and not have any nuts?! This kid's eyes opened wider than any eyes probably sbould, i gotta tell ya, i kinda felt a little bad for him, he looked shocked, a little embarrassed, and just bewildered! Ibmean, he looked like it was the first time a beautiful lady had ever spoken to him using the words Dick's & nuts in the same sentence.
Anyway, those around us that witnessed this wonderous rapportwere quietly chuckling, but then my wife shook her head at him, and apologized, she told him she couldnt help it and it needed to be said. Then the people who chuckled, gave in and loosened up a bit by unstifling their laughter!
So now, in principle, because if a business has sundaes on their menu, they need to have the option of adding nuts on the sundae menu!
Either that, call it what it is. "Ice cream in a paper bowl with choice of topping, no whipped cream, no nuts, no cherry on top no fun!
Oh, right, i was saying on principal, whenever we go to any location, shes compelled to ask about id they got em!
Hope you enjoyed my story which is based on true events about some of our experiences at Dick's. Hashtag, not...
Read moreTasty as always, don't really toss out many 5 star ratings because we all need improvement sometimes, right ?
Will i eat here again? Yes and Please!
They are definitely more expensive than they were thirty years ago. Haha
Fries around $2.80 Cheeseburger around $300 Deluxe burger between four & five.
For reference, when i used to go with my late husband, he would order two deluxes. (He'd usually finish the second one after an hour or two, but sometimes all at once.
I would usually get one or two cheeseburgers.
Then we would either share three orders of fries, or we'd each get two orders, usually the three though.
We try to skip in their pop as to us, the size of their cups are a tease, and the cost value is definitely not worth it to us.
Their shakes and sundaes are around four or five dollars? I can't recall .
If we did get a shake it was rare and we'd then only get one fries each. Two fries & a shake with burgers was pushing it for us. (If i had been single at the time however, i could probably slam a shake, 3 fries not sure about 2 cheeseburgers but definitely 1.
I would like to add my cost estimates are definitely estimates.
Lastly, but very important, the employers have always been great at communicating at this location, they are friendly and work efficiently.
Oh yeah! Don't even bother to ask if they have nuts for their sundaes because this Dick's has NO NUTS ! (Pretty sure no Dick's have...
Read moreSimple burgers, fries, and shakes etc for simple prices, which sets the tone for what to expect. I ordered the Dick's Special and fries. The cashier was friendly and offered to change our order to avoid a wait for what we specifically ordered. However, we were happy to wait to have fresh burgers. I would much prefer that over pre-made ones.
You can tell the fries were cut in the kitchen there. A little greasy, thinner, and slightly less crispy than I prefer, but they were still okay. The burger had a slightly larger bun than I expected, so it felt like the bun to meat ratio was off. Taste wise, it was okay. Very simple flavor with just a touch of chopped pickle in the center rather than throughout.
The experience of standing outside for an order of fries and burgers to eat in the car was fine overall. This food is simple, which makes eating in the car easy to do without a big, sloppy mess.
I will not go out of my way to drive to Dick's again since I do not live nearby, but if I am in Federal Way already and do not have much money and want a burger, I would...
