I pretty much only come here for the Safeway Gas Station if I'm too low to comfortably drive to a different one but even that's too crowded. Being on a road like 320th and having so many apartments in close proximity as well as all the driveways being close to lights makes it nearly intolerable to shop here if you want to actually leave when you're finished. All the driveways are blocked half the time and the other half of the time if traffic does move it's too dense to safely exit onto the road. Anytime I'm here I'm anxious cause reckless driving is a common sight. People can't find a decent way back onto the road and it pisses them off so that makes sense but it's still dangerous. People who are familiar with the area will drive through this lot down into the larger shopping area below that runs along HWY 99 to get back to their normal commute because they have no better options.
The short version: This area area is too small compared to the surrounding community. Many people get frustrated when trying to leave which leads to aggressive behavior. Aggressive behavior behind the wheel of a 5 ton killing machine is quite dangerous. I would rather not shop in a place that may kill me or cause me undue financial hardships in the form of automotive repairs and that's why I...
Read moreTonight the staff was helpful and friendly. Due to the way crime has risen in the area, I don't quite feel comfortable at some of the stores due to their loss prevention employees who for some reason I feel like they watch and follow me around to an excessive degree at times.
I mean, I notice them watching almost everyone, but it tends to make me feel uncomfortable which it shouldn't, since I am not a shoplifter!
I digress.
Tonight's visit felt non stressful and relaxed.
Either they've eased up,
they were understaffed,
or perhaps they've installed cameras , I don't really care other than I felt invisible and that is a good thing.
They have started having uniformed officers at the door which is very appreciated since the times I usually go into there are at night after work.
I also have noticed a lot less loitering outside, and less pan handling.
It got so bad for awhile one couldn't even sit in their car for a minute after parking, always Someone would come up to my window and scare the lights outta me! Ha
Not lately.
Store is usually clean. Employees usually nice. Prices are alot less of you get their club card, however, they still are not one of the cheaper stores.
If the parking lot looks packed, I'd rethink your life choices if you...
Read moreI just can't do it anymore Safeway. I am breaking up with you. Why? The "wild west" parking lot. Can't get into a handicapped spot since they are all always full. At least half taken by vehicles without proper tags. So curbside pickup? Again, can't get into a designated curbside spot because they are taken by people who have parked and gone into the store. I have been trying to use this location as my primary grocer for over a year.
Staff is friendly, and helpful once you are in the store! It just isn't easy to get INTO the store.
Store still seems to be unable to fully stock shelves so sometimes it is hit or miss on staple items but there always seems to an...
