I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant. I read so many reviews and the food looked amazing on photos but unfortunately it was just “meh”. When you first come in the restaurant there is a good vibe.. The music is good and it feels like a place that you can really sit back and enjoy the experience. The good experience stops at the music. I guess I'm ole school and still like to be greeted when I enter an establishment. That didn't happen here. I was also confused about the ordering process but after about 5 minutes of waiting for someone to take my order at a booth I walked up to the counter. I was told all the ordering is done online or at the kiosk. This is really a do all yourself type of place. Still, I wasn't discouraged and thought maybe the food would be worth it. I decided to order at the kiosk and it was easy enough.. I ordered 2 Thursday specials which included fried chicken, shrimp and cold slaw, no subs.. I didn't anticipate having to pay for things like tartar sauce, cocktail sauce or hot sauce but condiments aren't included with the meal. The food was slow to arrive and still no personal service. A robot brings your food. This isn't so bad but no one ever came to the table to ask if everything was okay or if anything else was needed. It was also strange that no one offered water, I noticed beverages on the menu but I've never visited a restaurant that didn't at least bring water to a dine in guest. The food, which lets be honest, is the one part that really mattered. The chicken was bland and fried in old grease, the shrimp tasted good and the catfish was fresh. All in all this was a wasted trip and $50.. Speaking of dollars, this establishment does not...
Read moreI have had the pleasure of dining here a couple of yrs ago, before the Kiosk and Robot. The Robot I thought, was a great and fun addition but the lack of Customer Service from the Staff was unacceptable. We were barely greeted and directed to the Kiosk to place our order. Once we seated ourselves, no staff approached us at anytime. We had to ask for the table to be wiped down as several needed to be. Once the Robot brought our food, we asked for Tarter Sauce and was told it was on back order. Couldn't some have been brought at say Sam's until their delivery ? Also they were out of the most popular three desserts... all on a Friday. Not sure why they were not better prepared for the weekend as I overheard several patrons asking for same items. Upon asking for a glass of ice, we were told they had none. We werent served the glass of water that is served whether upon request or otherwise. We had to approach the counter for everything we needed i.e ketchup, cocktail sauce. My Dinner companion was very disappointed as this was her first visit and I doubt if she will return. We both had Entrées that had Catfish Filet and it was Excellent ! The Best I've ever had however I don't know if I'd go back for that alone. With this lack of good Customer Service, you may as well go to their 'carry out only' location in Dell wood. I love that the Catfish Filet was piping hot ( and fresh) so carry out probably wouldn't be as good for this dish. I love Cathy and I hope she takes this review as constructive criticism and return this great Restaurant back to what it was a few years back. Folk prefer good Ole human interaction when...
Read moreMy mom was celebrating a milestone birthday and had seen advertising for Cathy's Kitchen, so we decided to give it a try.
You order your food at a kiosk and they only accept debit/credit cards, so be prepared. You seat yourself, but there is an employee that brings the food to you. We chose the dine in option, and when our food was ready, the employee called my name out, and said he'd bring the food to the table. My mom ordered the chicken and sausage pasta that comes with a dinner roll, and I ordered the chicken philly sandwich with fries. We got a piece of catfish filet to split.
Both meals were seasoned well. The pasta was tasty, with big chunks of chicken and sausage. The sauce was thinner than I like; she didn't mind at all. I ordered a side of the aoili sauce for my philly and some cajun seasoning for the fries - they were .99 each. My sandwich was full of seasoned chicken chunks and smothered with provolone and mozzarella on one side, and a sauteed jalapeño, green pepper, and onion mixture on the other. The catfish was good - fried well, and not greasy. Drinks were either by can or bottle, so no refills.
The music playing throughout the restaurant was from my mom's era. She was teary while reminiscing about dancing in the living room with her siblings while their father would serenade their mother to songs like "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" - that was one of the songs playing as we ate. She was so glad we came today to bring those sweet memories to mind 💚.
Thank you for such a great dining experience for my mom and me for her pre-birthday lunch. We...
