UPDATE: As you can see, I received a response from the business, and sadly, it came across as quite condescending. With years of experience in banking, I know how pending charges work. It wasn't my bank holding the funds; they were simply waiting on the merchant to release them. I never faced issues with pending transactions until dealing with you all. Your response only addressed the pending charge and ignored the three separate charges I was billed. No need to worry I get it. I won't have this problem again because you've shown me, loud and clear, how poorly you conduct business. I won't be returning.
ORIGINAL: While I rated the food, service, and atmosphere 5 stars, I ended up giving this place only 2 stars. My family and I had an enjoyable evening the vibes were excellent. However, a few days later, I noticed something odd while reviewing my bank statement. There were three different charges: an authorization hold for $30, another charge of $47 (which covered the difference of what we spent, totaling $77), and finally, a $91 charge, which included my tip. I'm puzzled about why there were three separate charges. The tip should have been added to the $47 charge once everything was finalized, yet this charge lingered in a pending state for a week. I contacted my bank to dispute the charges, and three days later, the merchant released the hold. Having to dispute charges to get what I'm rightfully owed shouldn't be necessary; a better system is needed. Once the charges were correctly reflected, I canceled the dispute. I'm not looking for a free meal, nor do I want to be taken...
Read moreI've been to this place several times throughout my undergraduate time and as of current. Normally, they are pretty good/actually really great. But today, they really had a moment of truth for me that shows me we have a pretty mid bar & grill on our hands.
I'll be the first to admit that this was my fault but listen to this little story right quick. I took out $20 at the on site ATM to play some music on the TouchTunes machine. I thought there would be a change function of some kind and put the entire $20 bill into the machine thinking it would allow me to select the number of credits I wanted and then return the remaining amount of money back to me. It instead immediately gave me 48 credits for music. Now, I like music but I'm not trying to listen to a playlist till next teusday, ya know? I asked a bartender about the situation and they assured me they would speak to a manager about the problem. They actually ended up speaking to a couple of managers and then returned to me with these options:
"You can call the phone number on the machine and try you luck or you can run a lap around the house and ask what music everyone wants to hear."
Really? No consulatory $5? No complimentary chicken tendies? Nothing to make the wound less salty for a common, lower middle class dude? In this economy?
I'll probably return one day but you better believe from now on I'm playing all sixteen minutes and twenty two seconds of The Grateful Dead's Terrapine Station till...
Read moreHoly snap! I’m on a mission to try every Philly cheesesteak around town, and this is by far one of my favorites. I’m typing as I eat and man I can’t get enough. The meat is nice an tender, not super salty like the one I got the other day. The peppers are there but not overwhelming, and just enough cheese for taste. I also got the fries, which are a little bland but I can fix that... would rather it be an easy fix than a nasty recipe any day. The service was quick compared to my estimated DoorDash time, and the food tastes fresh as if I was handed the plate in the middle of a game of pool at the hall. The bread choice is that of a hoagie from La’Rosas, but better.
Finally, I got the brownie... and boy is it worth the $8.99!!! Soft, moist chocolate brownie with the chocolate drizzle, icing and vanilla ice cream!!! This place has blown my mind and I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK. Nice shout out to the team, and owner, for a very happy customer...
