Very exceptional Japanese restaurant! Of course had to check out the all you can eat -First impressions: the staff were very welcoming and the seating area looks very nice, decorative, and loved the music playing, with a few glimpses into the kitchen, everything looked clean and organized! -Appetizers were amazing, miso soup was spot on, and the crab Rangoon and Gyoza were very delicious! -Sushi was very spot on, loved every roll, the Fuji roll took me by surprise with how well the ingredients were together, the Philly role was a bit lacking as it only included salmon and cream cheese, I would like to see some cucumbers added to give it more texture, but other than that I absolutely loved the sushi! The “hibachi”was very good as well, just keep in mind that when you order from the all you can eat, it’s just the meat so you have to order either rice or noodles with it as well. -Only “downsides” I saw: the robot that delivers your food needed to be washed up a little bit as it looked pretty greasy and grimy. Let’s talk about the price, roughly $28, an incredibly high price for an all you can eat lunch. Granted, they only have one price throughout the day. Definitely would recommend a lower lunch price as the restaurant was absolutely dead around 2pm. For $28 I would expect more variety on the menu, disappointed in the number of raw fish sushi items. I understand there isn’t much competition for the all-you-can-eat sushi places in this area, but I feel the price isn’t justifiable. I would consider expanding the selection on the AYCE menu, or lowering the price. In my opinion $18 is a perfect price for the experience I had. Even though I rated this place 5 stars, I didn’t feel like my money was well spent. However, I’m only giving this advice as I noticed we were the only customers in the dining area at this time, lowering this price to be more appealing to customers will definitely increase the business! Overall I loved my experience and hope to see this place grow! If the owners see this, feel free to reach out to me for more ideas as I would love to help out...
Read moreI can't comment on the food, only the very uncomfortable service that ultimately made us decide to leave.
When we walked in there was only one other customer sitting at a table. We were seated and given a chance to look at the menu, but we were interested in the all you can eat option because, hey, we love food and want to try some good stuff.
The discomfort started when service came over to ask what we would like, and this is where my husband inquired about the all you can eat menu. He didn't even FINISH asking the question before she abruptly turned away from us. This left us like, Hmm, okay then. Not a huge deal, but still off-putting. When she came back, it was with one single piece of paper. No instructions, no, "here's how to order," just another very abrupt "NO SHARING" barked at us, and then she left.
After ten minutes of looking at the menu and trying to figure out how it works-do we put our first initial by what we want? Do we pick from each category? Do we get another paper after this for additional rolls, or do you just get to try one and that's it? These are all questions we asked and did not get answers to at all when service came back. I don't know if she didn't understand, which is understandable to an extent, but you should be able to explain a menu to customers, bare minimum. A, "Have you been here before? No? Let me show you how this works," would have gone a long way. After her unwillingness, or whatever the hell you want to call it, to explain or give any help other than a nod or a "yeah", it just left a bad taste in our mouth. It was just the way she was acting toward us too, like it was an inconvenience to her that we were there.
I've seen a few other reviews that had mentioned the weird uncomfortable atmosphere. Maybe we went too early and needed a different server?
it's a shame, because we were really excited to try the food, but the service we got made us so uncomfy we left. MAYBE we will go again when there could be someone else waiting on us, but that was so off-putting that we just no longer wanted to stay there or spend our...
Read moreIn all the years I’ve reviewed, I have only given a 1 star once, but I think giving any more to this restaurant would be a lie!
The one star is for the robot that delivers your food. That was a cool feature of the restaurant.
Everything else gets zero stars! I read the reviews before going, so I thought it would be an enjoyable dinner out with a friend. We decided that for a little more we might as well do the $28 all you can eat option. That way we could sample more than one item.
We picked a couple of appetizers, noodles, hibachi shrimp (5 pieces), chicken and three sushi rolls with fried rice. The waitress said “that’s a lot of food”! Truly, if we ordered an entree and I had sushi, shared a roll and apps it wasn’t a lot. Their portions were not huge. We shared all the food! But for some reason they brought out two Philadelphia rolls. I knew I ordered three different rolls to try, but she said we ordered 2 of the same. Now comes the part that was the last straw! Their Philadelphia roll was awful! I’ve had better at Kroger. She said we had to eat all of it or be charged .55 each piece. I knew that from reading the menu! What was crazy is we couldn’t order another roll even if we paid for the other horrible pieces!! We sat there furious! Decided to order a few apps from this ALL YOU CAN EAT, menu….asked for it and she begrudgingly brought a menu, not our original one though!
Bottom line for $38 dollars each, the only food that was even okay was edamame, Crab Rangoon and Mt Fuji roll! All that would have cost $38 total!!!
Sadly, we were trying to try other options, but shouldn’t have ventured out because Oishi Express Japanese Grill is around the corner and they are extremely friendly and everything we have tried there has tasted incredible!!
P.S. if you see in the pictures. You can see the shrimp, chicken and rice we shared! Like I said it’s not a huge entree for one. The rice had zero vegetables or egg just literally fried RICE! And what ever the “fish” was in the Philadelphia roll was mushy and no cucumber or...
