Pixi Sweets — Restaurant in Florence

Stopped by today as I was looking to have a 2 tier, Sweet 16 custom cake made for my daughter's upcoming birthday. I have not been here before so I needed to try the cake to ensure it would work for the event. Upon entering, I was welcomed and encountered the most sweetest and helpful group of women. I showed the ladies a picture of what I was thinking I'd like the cake to look like and they were more than willing to create a similar cake for me using their own creativity. I brought home a vanilla and a chocolate cupcake as my daughter's palate isn't as sophisticated as the possibilities the shop offered. So I needed to ensure she'd like them before finalizing the cake order. The cupcakes were amazing! My daughter does not care for frosting. She prefers the whipped cream type. But the frosting on these cupcakes was phenomenal! My daughter commented on how yummy the frosting/icing was which is certainly not the norm for her. She usually scrapes it off. I'm looking forward to seeing the cake, but I'm also looking forward to trying their other desserts as well. You won't be disappointed. The customer service is exceptional. I needed last minute cupcakes for my son's birthday party. I paid over seventy bucks for two dozen regular sized cupcakes. They looked cute and the icing was delicious, but they all tipped over on my short ride home in the box they came in that didn't provide enough support with how top heavy they are. The icing was messed up on most of them. Then when we passed out the cupcakes all the people at the party took one bite and sat them down on the table, even the kids. Everyone was cracking up laughing saying how they tasted like cornbread!!! After trying one I couldn't disagree... I was so embarrassed and my son ran out of the room crying saying that his birthday was ruined and everyone was laughing and making fun of his party 😭😭😭😭 Which of course it had nothing to do with him, he didn't understand all the cornbread jokes and laughter... I was devastated and had mom guilt. I should have just made them myself instead of wasting $70.00. I hate to give a small business a bad rating, but it's true... I heard they make great cakes and the place is adorable but I would only recommend cornbread lovers to buy these...

I’m from out of state and contacted the bakery regarding a “bridesmaid proposal” cake. The idea was a hidden message that was revealed from under the frosting when a tab was pulled up. I was quoted this and told they’ve done these before so I went ahead with the order. My sister received her cake, it was pretty, but when she lifted the tab the entire message came up with the tab (revealing nothing.) Luckily she did eventually find the message when wiping off the frosting, but the point of the cake/surprise was blemished.

I reported this and was told the baker either didn’t trim the end piece or the message re adhered and I was offered a small refund. I responded accepting a refund, but mentioned I felt it was a small gesture considering the entire point of the cake was the message reveal, which didn’t happen. I still have yet to hear back regarding that message and haven’t received any type of refund. Disappointed to say the least, especially considering I had multiple of these cakes made with different bakers/states and this was the only one out of 9 that...
