My husband & I ate at Anna’s Deli University about a month ago & found it very pleasant & inviting . The food was delicious so we have been trying to get back & today 1/29/22 we made it happen. The food like last time was delicious but this time a guy took our order 😞 he was very short with us almost like he was telling us to hurry up. He just looked at us instead of trying to help us until my husband asked him some questions & he again was short & a little rude with his answer. We finished our order & my husband paid with a CC the man took the card swiped it & tossed it across the counter to slide back to my husband instead of handing it back to him. I went & sat down to get away from him. While my husband & I were eating more people came in & we noticed he was friendly & laughing with everyone else that came in. When we left he said nothing to us No Thank You! Come back! Have a good one! Nothing. I don’t know what we did or didn’t do to him but he was very rude & if he is there when we go back we will walk right back out. When My husband went back to work unfortunately this same guy was brought up & the same outcome was said. He definitely has upset some...
Read moreI have been coming to this deli since the first one on Siesta Key, as they were one of my favorite spots for excellent sandwiches and soups, however, this day will be my last visit. The potato salad was just giant chunks of potato with no flavor, and the sandwich was barely edible. The chicken salad was difficult to chew the chicken. I quietly and politely asked if I could change the potato salad out for something else and I was rudely asked what was wrong with it and when I explained that it was just large pieces of potatoes, she said, “We put the sauce on there.” She did not offer anything else, so I suggested maybe I could have an alternative and ended up with a bag of chips. I had thrown the two napkins away that they gave me and I asked for another one and was declined!! I was told that there were napkins given to me when they gave me my food. I just paid $18 for Pepsi and a small bag of chips, since thats all that was edible. Sad to say goodbye to this place and when my daughters visit Sarasota, I will not be taking them...
Read moreI found myself passing through Southbridge Mall, not a very bustling plaza, but the line of people drew my attention to a rather inconspicuous door. Behind it hid the queue of those eager to taste the best sandwich stand on Siesta Key.
After studying the short menu on the wall and chatting with a regular guest of this deli, I decided to try the pastrami and roast beef sandwiches. The friendly cashier clarified my preferences for vegetables and sauce in the sandwich, and I left to explore the walls adorned with pictures of Sara Sota's beautiful beaches and historical photos of the establishment.
The sandwiches were ready quite quickly, each neatly labeled and sealed with sticky tape to prevent them from unfolding on the way. At home, my husband and I tried the sandwiches, and it was one of the best pastrami experiences of my life! Wow!
For this price, you could savor half of it! Incredibly delicious, excellent service, and...
