Big Kahuna's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Florida

The menu is limited, as you would expect, it's a pool party place, you order at the bar then find a table, they call you to come and pick up your food. There is a disk jockey playing loud music, they also had karaoke, I had grilled fish, it was good, served in a plastic basket, every thing comes with fries, but you can pick a side cold slaw, or vegetables, I had the veggies. My wife had a chicken salad, served in a plastic box, with dressing in a bag, the lettuce was fresh, lots of croutons, we had wine in a plastic cup, no glass by the pool. Really wanted to try their food. After struggling to uncover their direct phone number on the internet, I decided to contact the hotel instead. The phone rang for a minute or so and when finally answered was put on hold, then put on hold AGAIN, and then transferred to the restaurant only to find out (after painstakingly reciting my somewhat complex and large order) that they only cater to those who are staying on-site. Say what, now?🤨 Shouldn't that be the first thing they ask of you call in to place an order??? (And be a special note category in Google reviews) Their food MAY BE delicious but sadly I'll never get an opportunity to say...

The atmosphere is the best thing about it. It's balmy and serene right now with decent music that's not too loud. But the alcoholic drinks don't actually contain alcohol. I know because if I have literally a thimbleful I get dizzy. I mean that. A capful of cheap wine cooler makes my head fuzzy and I'm asleep if I drink a few sips. I drank half my husband's mixed drink with no reaction. No taste of alcohol either. The food tastes fine but it's already overpriced before they force you to tip 18%. Overall shrinkflation and tip culture kill a nice time. Folks work hard to come here. Quit being...
