Sub-Par Experience and No Integrity We stayed in the second building of the hotel. You did not need a key to get into the second building or the pool as the doors were unlocked or open every time we tried. There were people coming in and out that did not appear to be staying at the hotel, and you could easily get past the main gate because we forgot our parking pass one night and they didn't say anything. When we left for breakfast the first morning, housekeeping was right outside our door and we told them that we did not need service. We had just gotten in the night before, we had not showered yet so all of our towels were clean... No reason for service and please do not disturb. There are no longer do not disturb signs at certain hotels, but we thought that we made it pretty clear and they understood. When we got back from breakfast though, we find that housekeeping came into our room anyway. We are a little frustrated at this point because not only did housekeeping ignore our request for privacy, but we actually had to STAND to eat part of our breakfast because there was an inadequate seating area. Even chairs and tables outside were taken. So we are already peeved, but a hot shower can fix that, right? THERE IS NO HOT WATER. Forget about taking a warm or even lukewarm shower here because the water starts out cool and goes cold after one minute on the hottest setting. We are ready to leave, but in our haste, I accidentally left some clothing items in the drawers in our room. I called the front desk the night that we checked out. They directed me to the Lost and Found department and I had to leave a message there because they are only open Monday through Friday. After not hearing back for a couple of days, I tried again and reached voicemail. After a couple more days, I tried again, left a message on voicemail and sent an email. More than a week has gone by now, the front desk keeps directing me to Lost and Found, I can't get a hold of anyone there, and they are completely unresponsive to voicemail and email messages. I finally contact a manager and they said that they would speak to housekeeping and Lost and Found and get back to me. Another day goes by, the manager did not reach out, so I have to call AGAIN. The person that I talk to claims to have called my number and left a message, but I did not have any missed calls or messages. They were just trying to cover their butts. They tell me that nothing has been turned in and they checked the room again. These are just some clothing items, and they weren't turned in? What if it was something more valuable like a wallet, phone, or jewelry left behind? If they can't even find and turn in clothing items, I can't imagine what others might have lost and will never get back. Housekeeping is totally untrustworthy here, security is barely there, and everything is simply below average. They are in serious need of a remodel/renovation - even technology was out of date and Wi-Fi signal is horrible. We will...
Read moreThere is a massive $30 per day ( including the day you leave??) Resort Fee that is not worth it at all. In addition, when I was booking my hotel at first, and called them to question what the additional fee was, they said it was a deposit. It wasn't! When we called them after, they were rude and hung up on us. The booking site did their best to refund me as well, since the prices mismatched.||The fee is not worth it though, there is nothing resort like if you're staying at the Express Inn. They are your typical motel, but worse as:|- They continuously call and bother and trick you about going to a scam of a timeshare. Even when I had expressed no several times, they woke me up with a call.|- Offer no services that warrant it ( my room never got cleaned? )|- They wouldn't even hold your luggage at the front desk.|- You couldn't close the curtains ?|- Half the plugs are straight up BROKEN!|- No snack vending machines, because they want you to order their overpriced food.|- Small TV / No Safe / Terrible free Wifi / 'Aracde' is 3 prize-grab type games with very outdated prizes / Gym was 2 machines in a very tight small room ||The clubhouse is nothing special, it is a pool with attached overpriced bar, and cafe I guess? It is a very large walk away from where the Express hotels are, that it shouldn't really count. I do not recommend it if you're disabled like me, and hoped to not drive on a holiday away. Not that it's worth even going there, it doesn't offer much else. There are the daily events, but you'll probably find nothing interesting to do, or have to pay even more.||||Some good:|+The rooms were very spacious, and had connected rooms?|+They have free mini-golf, the course is lame and boring, but could be fine|+Breakfast was missing waffles, but was decent and even had sausage croissant sandwiches, which is rare for free breakfasts to offer any sort of meat.|+ Incredibly close to other stores|+ They do have a lake where you can rent vehicles, so you can't swim in it.|+ Well maintained grounds & lovely wildlife||Overall though, spend the extra 30 a day you'd pay in resort fees and get somewhere good, or somewhere reliable. It completely ruined the last few days...
Read moreUpon check in I was informed by Alex at the front desk that I had to talk to the concierge. I asked why and I found out that the “concierge“ was actually just a time share salesperson. There were five “concierges” (time share people) behind the front desk at the time doing nothing but sitting around but only one person doing check ins that I saw (Alex). I told the front desk I was from nearby and just visiting the parks and had no interest in a time share and that I was tired and just wanted to go to the room and go to sleep. He still insisted That I talk to them and I stated several times I did not want to. Eventually after several times back and forth of telling the front desk I wasn’t interested I was informed that I had to talk to them or the concierge would lose their “job”. I again told Him I wasn’t interested and he still insisted. I found this tactic rude, distasteful, unprofessional and embarrassing. No where when booking the hotel did it state it was a time share or that when I paid for the room via Expedia that I would have to listen to a sales pitch and it catches you by surprise. Other guests at check in were also being told the same thing that they must talk to a time share sales person (for a resort the hotel owned) down the road. I actually had to eventually state that either I would be allowed to go to my room or I wanted a refund To go to another hotel as I had no interest in a time share.
Once I got to the room, we realized that the air is set on a temp that cannot be lowered very much and is locked by a digital thermostat. The room was warm to me. I have never stayed in any hotel that has a locked thermostat. There is also no fridge in these rooms and no safe. As a regional resident who visits the theme parks and stays at local hotels often, a fridge is a standard item that a hotel for even half the price has in this area. Had it not been so late at check in, I would have left and paid to stay at another place. I will never stay at this hotel again. Shop around even a little and you will find a better room...
